I am not happy with the content and fixes for these patches that have come out, now and in the past.
it feels like this game is going nowhere FAST, for instance, performance drops patch after patch for myself, and that's a HUGE issue for me. There are alot of bugs that still have not been fixed for myself ( overheat bug ) and i find myself wondering, are they doing there best?
I feel like it will take a year before this game is truly playable or to at lease have enough content to justify spending MC or Prem time.

What say you?

and i feel the same way... in CB i asked how fast they were with fixes... well i wanted to believe they can get it done.. but i doubt it. :(

Considering that everything we see is two builds (at least) behind what PGI is working on, and the massive issues with the CryEngine change they went through last month, and the integration of Dx11 which is going on... I think the content introduction rate is coming along at a reasonable pace.

Still itching for the metagame, though...

1. This is BETA, you act like this is release. Beta content is always changing, and there are lots of bugs that need fixed in beta because it's not finished yet!

2. I'm running this game on HIGH with a nVidia 9800 GTX and I have no issues whatsoever with performance.

3. No game goes somewhere FAST, they take time to develop. There are no fast food restaurants in PC gaming.

4. Bugs take time to fix, and they have to be careful they don't break something else in the process. They also have to isolate the line or lines of code causing the bug and that takes TIME. Be patient. They'll fix it when they figure out the problem and code a solution that doesn't create more bugs or break the game.

5. It is playable now, I'm having a blast. If you want to quit until release, go ahead. But I am BETA TESTING this game and helping the devs develop the game. The reason why a lot of you open beta players were allowed into the beta was because PGI needed your data. And no, I did not buy my closed beta key, I got in before I ever spent a dollar on this game and once in, I was impressed with the quality and gameplay so decided to become a Founder.

Patience young beta tester. All good things come to those who wait.

i was hoping we'd be getting maps and mechs alot faster than we are, other than that i think the patches are fine

i think all the massive whining about the game modes and 8 vs 8s is a little ridiculous

no issues with that card? amazing.
i have a 6950 2gb and i have issues, patch after patch it gets worse. anyways i really like your having a blast, but it seams your not paying attention to there Patch past and whats going on,
some of these issues have been around since CBT round 1.
Hit detection and netcode have not improved, if i shoot a jenner with 2x dual Erppc and they take NO damage at 500m, something is wrong.
is the game fun? sometimes.
is there content? no.
is this beta testing? no. closed beta is beta testing.
OB is a released product witch reviews can be made. i lost over 10 friends because they said the game is bugged as hell. where they go? well another game.
I really waited long for this game, maybe my hopes were to high?

Since I just disco'd to desktop I have time to chime in. I'm ok with the minor glitches. I could care less about the cataphract, but having more mechs isn't a bad thing.

The problem is, PGI over promises. Phase I is a joke and it's still 4 man drops only. The maps are too few and too small. The base-cap game is TIRED.

So, while it's "Fun", I get bored with it and find myself switching to other games frequently. I'm not the only one. A lot of our hard-core players were dwindling under Phase I. They were on for about an hour today then left to play other games.

Which reminds me, time for some RO2!

Voted yes to both. I am happy with the FREE content on this FREE game that we get to play during the BETA.

I'm not happy with thier priority list of things to be done. Espeially concerning netcode, engine optimizing and matchmaking. Sure it takes time, and they got different teams on different tasks.

Even though the generic "it's beta" guy can justify anything with it, for me a beta means that there is progress. At the moment there doesn't seem to be any kind of that. Sure the can put on maps and mechs, but what use if the game itself isn't close to a stable gameplay? Thats not the kind of progress i'm looking forward to.

I'm past disappointed and am beginning to question the viability of this game. We are going backwards from the closed beta. Worse performance. No eight man groups. No collisions. Fundamental aspects of the game are broken. Plus we still have a whopping four (plus a reskin) maps and one game mode. Patches are delayed and missing stated features. DHS are shrouded in silence and confusion. I'm afraid this isn't becoming the game I want to sink time/energy/money into. Honestly I think the devs have a lot of brass to hold a promotional event the day after missing the mark so badly with this patch.

I really like the sort of mindset that goes into a poll like this:

"Is this enough stuff for a Free-to-Play Open Beta, or do we need want more content, faster?"

It really shows how connected people are with the price of making a modern video game, especially one that aspires to do as much as MWO is going to try and do.

If you've been paying attention, then you'd recall that they had improved the netcode, but it wasn't working for people that were having performance issues. Especially for Europeans and Oceania players. They rolled back netcode updates until DX11 is released.

As for content: Many people fail to grasp the fact that it game development teams each work on their own parts of the project and finish as they go. The artists and mappers finish a 'mech? That's pretty easy to release. Physics coders finish some destructible terrain before there is graphics support for it? Well, then it has to wait.

If you're losing friends to other games, then maybe consider making new friends here? You don't have to give up on the old ones, you could play games with them too. Perhaps you were part of the gaming era in which CoD kids didn't play with Halo BKs who didn't play with Battlefield griefers who weren't allowed to be a part of the TF2 W+M1 Master Race? Because that was never an actual barrier; you can play multiple games.

In fact, perhaps taking a break would be good for you. This much raging can't be good for your blood pressure. Go take a break and come back when you aren't burned out.

P.S. Tester burn-out was the reason that PGI stated for wanting to push into Open Beta. (Remember the email they sent out?) Players were showing signs of having tested all the content exhaustively, so PGI wanted to inject new blood into the servers.

P.P.S. If you're having so many issues with your graphics, have you tried the usual fixes, such as clearing your cache, renewing your attributes.xml, etc.? If you would like, you could post your system specs to the support board and describe your problem, perhaps some of us beta testers could help you find a solution to your graphics woes.

Guys, with the holidays coming up, be patient. I voted yes to both, even without trying the patch yet because I'm at work. I liked what I saw, and that I'm STILL not paying a monthly fee at this point. The base gameplay is fun, and I have no issues with the game except the extremely rare CTD anymore. Graphics and netcode improvements have happened, and I don't have problems hitting fast mechs.

Until today, I was content, more or less. But this patch is missing way too much that was promised. The 8 man team fix, the camo spec, new game mode, new map, and many other smaller things have been promised. And while I understand that development is unpredictable and delays can happen, to miss such a large chunk of content is.... disappointing. I'll stick it out a bit more, because the game has so much potential, but I admit to beginning to have my doubts about PGI's ability to deliver on it.

game is now unplayable for me. FPS drops all the time and is way too low to even attempt at aiming properly. Can we just roll everything back to how it was in closed beta? I'm not seeing much improvement but I am seeing a ton of new problems. First time I'm glad I did not find out about this game till the day after Founders ended.

I love the core gameplay and love battletech yet I'm becoming more and more convinced that this game has no future. What is PGI doing? I'm patient and understand progress can sometimes be slow, but what I don't understand is how the game is getting worse...and they are considering making 3rd person the default setting?! Slow it down even more if you need to, but please fix the bugs that have been around since closed beta.

I didn't expect much from this last patch but apparently I need to set my standards even lower. Hopefully there will soon be a patch for this patch so I can at least play again.

No / Yes...

That's the main reason for the 'No'...

Yes:
Releasing of a patch every week or two is fast enough...
And usually, you can see a progress from patches to patches, even if a new bugs or two managed to slip through...
Yellow blur for the bug... Green=Optimum range, Yellow=maximum range, Black=Out of range, in the weapon list, for the progress feeling...
But then, the feeling of bad priorities is still quite strong... More Bugs squishing (especially Netcode) and game modes (Assault is getting old fast...) would be appreciated...

PS: Got to admit, it's hard to appreciate the new patch when in my second game, I get the yellow blur bug that makes playing far more difficult than it should...

Usually I'm ok with their patches content-wise, but I was expecting this one to be bigger. The big announcement that there was going to be a new mech and it being plastered on the front page kind of made it seem like this was going to be a huge content patch. I was really hoping for conquest or at least a rough draft version of the skin editor.

BAP, the cataphract (currently a deathtrap), a host of small tweaks, and a few new issues is a little underwhelming IMO, but I guess it's my own fault for assuming it was going to be a epic.

I want more content like everyone else of course. But this game is better now than it was yesterday. I was happy yesterday. I'm still happy now. I dont see a reason to loose my marbles over a patch that wasn't as good as i hoped.

This is open beta. Beta is the phase where content and the base of the game are complete (with the former not really applying to F2P titles of course) and all that is left is balancing and bug fixes. I don't really blame pgi for the bugs, but i do find it lousy that they still have and incomplete matchmaker, and still plan on developing an advance community warfare. This game is only in beta because they are calling it such, beta implies the game is finished. This game is no where near finished. (again, im not talking about content, but game mechanics)

To be honest, they promised that for the NEXT patch. They said "Late November, Early December", and I recall finding a post by Russ saying that the new map (Desert or whatever) is coming out the start of december. It's one new map, one new mech, a month. New mech was today. New map, two weeks. Stalker, two weeks later, etc.
