As much as I love this game, I can't recommend it to my more casual friends (they are casual) due to the initial heavy grind at the start and the net code (it sucks for most of us in our country). They would just get frustrated with the time it takes to get a first mech (I know most of them would skip the Commando) and not hitting where they are aiming (not everyone of them is as understanding as I am).

I am surprised that a few of my friends have heard about it and tried it out, but the lack of activity in our Facebook MWO group probably means they are not enjoying themselves. I'll definitely tell them to try it out (or try it out again) after they have fixed the major gameplay issues (balancing is minor and almost negligible to be honest compared to the netcode and new player experience).

A friend of mine is installing it in his internet cafe. I'll probably get some feedback from him and his customers if people actually try it out there.

Its in beta, so there are bound to be issues like lack of content and bugs, but overall I like the direction the game is going. So yeah I'd recommend it with full disclosure explaining that its in beta, what that means, what they'll encounter, etc.

I refered this game to three friends. All of them quit in the trial mech phase. Right now i wouldnt recommend playing this either. Simply install MW4:Mercs again.

I have actively told my friends to not try this game in it's current state. I barely play as it is, a couple of nights a week I may pop on for 5 or 6 rounds, but there simply isn't enough content to keep me interested and it's too unfriendly to new players in the current state that I fear they will find the game more trouble than it's worth. When there's a couple more game modes, a training area, proper item descriptions and stats, game chat lobbies, a swath of bug fixes, and at least another 4 - 6 maps then I would consider recruiting friends. This game feels late-alpha to me.

really want this game to be a great success, but at its current state i just can't recommend mwo to a friend, there are too many bugs and it is quiet the opposite of "new-player-friendly".

maybe in 6-8 months this game is more like i (and the devs) envisioned it to be?

Nope. I would not. Even after release.

I talked about the game with 6 other people. I was with my Sunday D&D group on the 18th and we were talking about the week of missle mech. When missles had a 90 degree arch shot over all terrain, and all scouts had to do is het R and you see missle from 4 mech curve and hit a guy right in the back.

Then they laugh and say they wait for the game to be released.

Not with this many bugs and this amount of content. I know a lot of gamers, but not a lot of die-hard MW fans.

I'll **** it out when I'm good and sure that it'll give new users a better experience.

Huh? Direct X is backwards compatible. Sounds like you're saying silly craziness to make an invalid point.

NO!

Huge MW fan here, had a blast for two weeks. Got tired of terirble "its a beta" or "join teamspeak in order to have fun" crowds. Seen no Dev input, no feedback, terrible decisions. Game is DOA in my opinion. I'm deinstalling. Will come back when the forums are positive (if that ever happens).

Currently enjoing Planetside 2. AWESOME F2P release. Some bugs, but nothing even remotely near as bad as MWO.

To the devs, way to ruin a legacy. Go back to making bottom bin fishing games.

Unequivocally. I've invited lots of friends, lots are still playing. Most are a bit older though and have been 'round the beta traps before. Most also have the maturity to see past the inevitable beta flaws to what is, in my opinion, a very fun game with a lot of potential. The sort of people that are able to choke down the furious entitled anger that threatens to boil over whenever they encounter something they don't like, and can make a rational post about it, instead of the seeming majority of people who lack said restraint and run screaming with indignant rage to the gigantic button in their head that has the sign 'VITRIOL - ON!!!!' hanging over it.

<crap analogy>You know, the sort of people that don't scream, whine and toss away their toys when they lose some of their shine, and try to fix them instead.</crap analogy>

Two friends of mine bought into the Founders after I recommended the game to them.

And I'll keep recommending the game to people.

Not until we can fill a team with friends again. No, doesn't have to be against pugs. Just being able to play as a group without dealing with half the team wearing their arse as a tophat...

Not a chance, i did when i first got into beta and one friend joined me in beta the rest waited for launch.

When it launched i had many people ask me if its worth playing and i told them all NO and to wait, they didnt listen and i havent seen any of them online since the first week after the game launched.

And i doubt they will come back if the game ever gets fixed, PGI had one shot at a first impression and did the biggest epic failed first impression i have ever seen. PGI totally killed this game by releasing it as it is and unfortuantly they/we are probably going to end up without a game because of it.

I'll be stunned if this survives long enough for community warfare, i have over 40 people on my friends list and used to see at least 5 people on every time i signed in, now the only time i see people online is when i call them up and ask them to play a few rounds with me then they sign in.... thats not a good sign.

I not only recommended it, I got two to join. We did LAN gaming as a team this past weekend. We had a blast. I apologize profusely for actually enjoying myself...

Yes. It is not perfect, still in beta. But the potential is there and anyone who has an interest in big stompy robots might enjoy.

I go on about this game all the time, some have played and enjoyed it immensely, the rest like it but are waiting for more content rather than beta testing.

NO, ABSOLUTELY 100% DEFINITELY NOT.

I am in Australia, the latency is about 300ms, at that, the game is completely unplayable.
Not one of my friends would play this game the way it is, its completely unfriendly to higher pings.

East Asian server or go bankrupt all I care.

I wouldn't recommend this game over any other unfinished product unless they're a MechWarrior fan. I myself have been following the game for a while and dropped for Legendary almost immediately. I was already burned out on League of Legends and similar games anyway. This is definitely a fun change for MOBA gaming and while I still play an MMO regularly; it's fun to drop a few hours on this every week while I patiently follow its progress and development. One day down the road I'll have 10k posts on here and say that I've had my nose it in before it even launched Open Beta.
