I really have to ask you though... where are you going? In a few weeks your chosen mechs will be XP capped, you will have 30 million just sitting there doing nothing... and you will be complaining that PGI doesn't have enough content. So really, what is the rush?

you could say the same thing about the cbills you are losing out on not to mention the possible ammo costs associated with killing the last mech

I don't think literacy or reading comprehension is the issue. More likely the players were disinclined to acquiesce to your request.
