Just wanted to say that I'm loving the new shadow implementation. Very nice work and helps immersion to see my shadow doing what I do instead of remaining statuesque.

Nice work.

Haha, I noticed that today too. The unmoving, hovering shadows from before were really distracting for some reason.

Noticed this too on River City. Yay, the shadows animate! Big improvement. Thanks,

Yep, I'm really happy they finally changed the shadows. This hovering shadow bothered me from the moment, I first saw it in a youtube vid. Thanks for implementing the new one. :)

I don't think so. The shadow of your own mech was not animated, it was static and just hovered around. Only the shadows of all the other mechs had been animated, not your own.

I just noticed this as well! I almost couldn't believe it at first when I saw my mech's shadows reflecting its leg movement. A pleasant surprise!

They look weird after having weird hovering mech shadows for so long.

Yeah, I have to agree with you on that part initially. I've grown accustomed to static standing shadows I guess.

Good point. I actually run with my shadow settings to low, I haven't noticed a difference in FPS though and the shadows are still animated on low. Maybe it's just some optimization issues that they need to fix with certain cards, especially with the GTX 600 series it seems... I'm running 550ti and no matter what settings I run i always get 40-50. High on everything sets me down to 30ish range.

I have to say, i cannot figure out why this is so distracting... but damn it sure is. If this has been fixed, it would be a welcome change.

So the shadows walk now but the mechs still glide?

Has anyone gotten an answer if they want to implement some form of walking for the mechs or is the screen shake all we get? (not ********.. i just saw the question hundreds of time but never an answer from the devs).

How can you tell if your own model is animating, without 3rd Person?
