Just a heads up, stats are public. They will be viewable by everyone in the new year, similar to http://www.bf2stats.net/

What do you guys think about this?

On the one hand I would like to know who has been AFK farming this whole time. On the other hand I would not like people commenting on how small my Yen Lo Wang is.

Edit: Added the fence sitting option :)

I'm okay with it, but I'd like the ability to reset my stats at my pleasure. Furthermore, when they're used in matchmaking I hope the devs are wise enough to use a moving average of recent values rather than totals.

Good, i'm not ashamed of my stats in any game, no matter how low they are.

It depends greatly on what kind of stats. I normally don't care much for them but knowing my win/loss is nice. Knowing something like fired off 300 missles and having only 40 hit an enemy while the rest miss wouldn't be much of a usefull stat to me on some stat screen post match. If I had a match go that bad its time to try new tactics and mechs.

Trying for another locked thread, Bro?

I have to say no, unless it's zero'd out after beta or one has the option to make it private...or another option I haven't thought of. Testing single weapons, PUGging as fast as I can to gain xp/Cbills, consistent game problems, disconnects, and all the other issues have made for a much worse ratio than I'm capable of. At this point, making it public serves no purpose whatsoever for me.

Totally AWESOME news! The size of our Yen Lo Wang does matter.

It's a motivator for people to play more and spend more money, therefore I like it. Couldn't care less if people can see my crappy stats.

Here, I'll even post them here. I bet other people care even less than I do!

I'm afraid all it will do is encourage e-peen waggling and stats-whoring. The stats are really BS as far as reflecting your actual contribution to the group. I really don't care if people see my stats, but having been in games with public stats I know what kind of wanktardish behavior it encourages.

I would be embarrassed for people to see the size of my e-peen.

Pug stomping week ruined my stats. 0.5 kd after a week of open beta, it was embarrassing even though it wasn't public. The shame of it! On the way up now though...

If the stats are detailed enough then it will show in them if someone is manipulating them.

I vote no, if people are afraid to die in a match so that they don't "hurt" their k/d ratio, it will effect the game worse than that nature already effects it. If they only show win/loss and ditch Death count (maybe replace it with Kills/Match count), that would be a different story.

I honestly could give a rats ***. I am quite certain any kid on here making fun of another persons stats is probably not worth worrying about in real life.

For people who don't care, then it doesn't matter. For people who do care, they will waggle their e-peen regardless. Doesn't seem like a big deal to me. Charge 500 MC for a stat reset.

I care more about my team win/loss than anything else. But until 8 man versus 8 man is in, even that is a bit random.

That would rake in the money.

I don't really care, but having them public in some form or fashion will be necessary for leaderboards and any form of in depth metrics.

Hmm if stats go public, I'm seriously considering making a few more 'tactical errors' here and there to bring my k/d down.

I know that stats are meaningless, but for those e-peeners who look me up, I want them getting even more misinformation as to my actual skill level.

Has anyone thought that you can also use stats another way.

If you have lousy stats for one reason or another, then matchmaker will set you against easier foes.

However, the thing to remember is that stats don't reflect the extremely high attrition rate roles like scouting, where someone has to be the Dirty Harry: "Every lousy, stinking, sh!tty job...":

As much as this is going to make scouts look bad I am all for it.

Suicide farmed? LOL YOU SUCK BRO!!!

Oh and quitting a match (alt+f4) when your mech is at less than 70% needs to count as 2 deaths, and this should NOT be announced, just quietly change it.
