Their have been some really good fan-made apps for other games I've played. Goodluck with this, can't wait to see it.

This would be beyond awesome. Hell, I'd probably donate to the app developers for their work.

Thanks for the support! We're currently working on the hard point system, so you can see at a glance where all the weapon hard points are on each variant. Once that is done, it's a matter of organizing the data trees. I think you guys will really like the interface :P

Alright, after a short break, it's back to work! I added the Hyperpulse Radio (:P :D :D) and upgrades icon. Also, here is a sneak peak at the UI. It's still unfinished (and we've progressed a bit further) but this gives you a basic idea:

I can't believe how much art I just put on my board :D. I think I have about 30 60 more icons to make, not to mention if I'm going to do custom mech paper dolls. I might be here for a while. :D

Thanks for your support though :P

I'd be eager to use a mobile Mech Lab inside an MWO-centric app. I wouldn't expect much significant API work until after clans hit MWO, but I'm gonna hope for the best with any work PGI does on an API. It would definitely help apps like this to thrive!

They build off each other, really, so the more people that play MWO, the more people interested in an app, and the more people using the app, the more people will spend MC. Consumers lose the desire to purchase items when they are no longer in an atmosphere that encourages them to buy. When you spend time in apps and such, that atmosphere extends beyond the normal game client. That's why so many game companies encourage guides, fan sites, and (more recently) apps.

Here is an update on the GUI. Note: the speed values are currently randomly generated - they do not reflect their actual values in the game yet!

For the app I am developing I am making a way to import export loadouts using json. Would you be interested in working with me to come up with a standard that could be used between different apps?

We are planning on allowing exportable mech designs as well, but we will most likely use xml, as it's super easy and lightweight, though feel free to pm me with how you picture this working :D

We're doing good so far, but I'll keep you in mind if we need to expand :P.

Thanks! Hopefully that will be soon. We're making a lot of progress on the UI and currently pulling heatsinks, armor and hard points.

When you've got this finished, consider porting to Blackberry 10 / Playbook. I can put you in touch with some people to assist you if necessary. From what I've read, often an app can be ported in a few hours light work. :)

I WILL pay for it if you do.

Good luck with this, sounds like a great idea to kill time while I'm at work :)

I also think you should make a little bit of money from this even if you just make a no-ad version and charge for that. I would gladly pay $5 for it and I'm sure many others would as well.

Sorry, the UI will have to wait a bit longer (tired... sleep now).

If we port, the first device will be iphone, though we'll port to any device we are able to. Displaying basic data is easy, but something like a mech lab would probably have to be rebuilt from the ground up.This can take a while, even for experience programmers. But we'll definitely look into porting to other devices!

Thanks! It definitely beats working while you're at work . I'm sure we'll talk more about the financial stoofs as we get towards the release stage.

Anywho - off to take a break.
