Buying Pots Of Paint With Mc

65 replies to this topic

Poll: We all know painting our mechs will cost MC. I would like PGI to know how we would like to spend our MC on our pints (149 member(s) have cast votes)

How would you like to spend MC on painting your mech

  1. Buy pots of paint. Have many diffrent shades, colors and textures like ciditel or ralpartha. Maybe even make the pots finite (142 votes [92.81%] - View)

    Percentage of vote: 92.81%

  2. Everytime you change the color of the mech from blue to green you pay MC (11 votes [7.19%] - View)

    Percentage of vote: 7.19%

Look, I don't want you to get the wrong idea or anything, but PGI have shown they do not give a rat's *** about negative critics concerning core aspects of the game. PGI will just do what they think is necessary. What makes you think they'll take constructive criticism about something that's a secondary aspect of the game?

PGI has actually made a great mechwarrior game for people who have been begging for a great mechwarrior game for a decade. What makes you think they would pass up an opportunity to make real cash off virtual pots of paint? I just wanted them to know that we support that idea.

I have to disagree. PGI is "still" making this game. It seems to me the "need" for money seems to be the problem.

You are correct they are still making it. I also fear that there might be a need for money to get it where we all want it to be. Its a blast so far but obviously lacking a whole lot. My point of this thread and poll was to help guide PGI towards implementing something many of us would be happy to put money into. Pay to spray no one likes. Buying pots of paint to do what we want with sounds like the bomb to a lot of us. A good portion of us already do it IRL. I know at least 50 guys just in my clan that would buy every single color as it came out. That sounds like money in the bank to me. Those same guys might pay to spray a couple times at most and be done with it. Obviously there is also the need for a panning camera in the mechbay so we can gawk at our creations.

I'm not a fan of the proposed PGI system. I want to be able to purchase a wardrobe of paint jobs and colors for MC, but then charge CB only for changes. Charging me $4-$5 every time I want to change the paint job for one 'Mech is little steep. This is the first time I've complained about MC costs for anything. I think the MC costs for 'Mechs is just fine.

First time I have complained about MC costs as well. I dont mind being charged for a "wardrobe" as you put it. In fact theirs a good chance Ill buy every single insignia, pattern and color offered. I don't even mind having to spend Cbills to put the paint on my mechs, as I suppose that makes sense and cbills are easy enough to come by. But none of us want to spend MC to put paint ON our mech. That system will fail and I think before they give it the chance to fail and have to screw with it they should just go with their initial plan of selling pants/patterns and insignia for MC then letting us do what we want with it. They just might get rich in the process. There is in fact already a huge president for systems like that working quite well in games.

Definitely buying pots is a great idea, people can colour code mechs to create a signature line-up specific to your colour preferences. Not to mention it draws a line back to the table-top game and painting of models.

Awesome idea Mathmatics ;)

can anyone say 'team colours'?

a lance of mechs with the same colour scheme would look pretty cool. more like a team, in fact.

wonko.

Buying colors I'm okay with.

Buying schemes that I can then color change on I'm okay with.

Buying an engagement ring every single time I want to change paint color. ARE YOU ******* HIGH, PGI?

This reeks of moneygouge.

Most of us tabletop players pay $USD to color our mechs. PGI has to make money some how, dont forget you are paying this gam for FREE and alot of people want this option

Anyone that's played world of tanks is familiar with the concept of paying to have your tank painted and then paying again to repaint it.

It's really not that unreasonable.

With that said, paying for a "pot" of paint and getting x number of uses with it across all my Mechs would be cool.

I paid a lot of USD to paint my 1,000 mini collection, get bored, paint them again. Have a Canon Event to run and paint them again. Having a 10-15 use "pot" of paint is way more in line with what I do than pay, pay, pay for three paint schemes.

Got to love the idea of making a thread AND a poll... knowing full well that regardless who posts or what the results of the poll are... PGI will continue doing whatever the hell they want.

I disagree Mouse. I have seen PGI bend to the pressure of whiners, why wouldn't they take a good compromise solution to sticking their hand into your wallet and taking your money. The game needs money to stay vaible, if we keep trying to play for free we won't have a game long, and I have to get to 3075(ish) Cause Joe Mallan WILL be on Earth kicking WOB robotic Ashes, and I want to actually BE there in the MMO!!!

Seriously, Joe Mallan is in the BattleCorps when they help retake Earth :)
