Number Of Heat Sinks

the smaller the engine the more heak sinks it needs???
a 120 needs 6 heat sinks, while a 150 needs 4 and a 280 needs none?
And doesn't double heat sinks suppose to count as 2 heat sinks worth of heat dissapation? and yet still have have fit the exact same numbers to satisfy the engine?
where is the logic in this setup?

Currently there is no logic, and this especially so due to "double" heatsinks only work at 1.4 if not already part of the engine.

If you use DHS, it's always a good idea to also use a ballistic or missile weapon so you can use your leg crits for ammo. Unless you're using Endo Steel and similar technology.

Put the ammo in your head - great counter for through armor crits!

I agree. An XL engine is supposed to give you performance at the cost of engine taking up slots.. but now its ******** to use one in most cases because you also have to add heat sinks mandatory
XL 145. 2.5 ton engine. Not really since you are forced to use 5 heatsinks extra.. so in reality its 7.5 tons. The normal 145 engine weighs 5 tons and also requires 5 heatsinks.
So 10 vs 7.5 tons. You lose 6 crit slots and make yourself three times easier to core with an XL .. for a mere 2.5 ton reduction in overall weight.
That is a very bad tradeoff imo.

I run XL in almost every build so far, don't get killed any more or less, but I do have the extra srms and heat dissapation - or the speed to dodge more shots.
