Because programmers program and modellers/animators make art assets. I do a mental facepalm every time I see this question. If someone was building a house, would you expect the electricians to help the plumbers install the plumbing? The plumbers would have to spend all day fixing the electricians screw-ups.

...so the modellers are handling the "Double" Heat Sinks while the animators take care of matchmaking.

Thank you- this explains soooo much.

Honestly, I cannot think of one part of the game that does not have broken elements. All departments need to just stop trying to add and concentrate on fixes. Especially since it is the new "content" that is breaking the game.

And yes electricians can help plumbers install plumbing, electricians use pipe too. Bad analogy.

Whats the bets that if they did stop new feature work to concentrate on optimisation that in about a week we'd see the first "whaaah 5 maps 1 gamemode they arent introducing anything new" posts.

Honestly if you look at any forum for any MMO style game this is a never ending balancing act and the developers catch abuse no matter how they try to meet expectations.

you guys are acting like a bunch of children
this is not a McDonalds franchise they are just knocking together from the 5mil raised by founders

they are making a game, making games takes time
they fact that they have opened the doors to use so we can enjoy the game along side them while they make it is nothing short of legendary
and yet you guys bicker, abuse them, cut them and then try to pick at the scabs

you should all be ashamed
they are building the game of our dreams and trying their damn hardest to do it right for us

giving them a whole ton of money does not make the game happen faster, it just guarantees that it does happen

Perhaps you are unaware then that they gave the nice sum of 5 million to their investors, and are NOT using it to finish this game? So no guarantees m8. I hope you understand according to your own logic, we are buggered.

CORRECTION!!! Yes I mean publishers. Not investors. I am certain PGI will be able to use the publishers money and not the investors money... No. The point is they gave it away and can't use it to fix this.

Optimization? I would settle for bug fixes.

for me there is a lot of progress: my fps went from 10-15 to 24- 50, no more fps drop when moving up or down hill, no fps lag when firing wepon, less rubber bending, less lagging, better looking maps, more upgrades, more tech... yes there are problems, but when i look back to when i started playing the game i can see the effort they made and still making to overcome the problems.

so yes i'm happy with my invested money...

it is all good i think, mix of new items and mechs and maps and weapons...

should be some bug fixes...

but yes, they should implement phase 2 as it was supposed to be in previous patch.

we are a small clan of 266 players, unfortunately, playing with bots/ teamkillers have made half of them just wait it out until 8 man/ women premades are fixed and back up and running...

If the game is in this state in 6 months, THEN I'll be worried. I expect matchmaking, new game modes, and overall increased performance by then.

By investors I think you mean Publisher. Two COMPLETELY different things.

I wish we were playing the same game. My game is virtually unplayable, your game sounds GREAT! Please direct me to the download where my FPS is at 50, the light mechs don't have a lag shield, I don't look like I am doing the wild thing on an atlas leg when I pass with my jenner, the maps don't have floating missile covers, I don't randomly crash to desktop and the 6 million CB upgrades could be rendered obsolete only if my pilot could tape a HD can to the mechs head pointed backwards.

Please send me the link to this magic fairy dust game.

Bug fixes are a part of optimisation as far as I'm concerned, apologies for not being clearer on that.

@OP: read the content roadmap, there are the main/big changes mentioned, the bug fixes are not mentioned, but will come when they, uhm have fixed the bugs...

I'm really looking forward to fixes for:
match making lobbies
CTD at game launch
game freeze during play
yellow screen at launch
freezing mechlab during save
game killing low FPS introduced in the last two patches
players getting stuck in map graphics
black screen at launch
no HUD at launch
advanced graphics tweaking options included in the game menu
suicide farmers

I don't see any of that stuff mentioned in the upcoming patch, sadly I wont be getting my hopes up.

Maybe the in-cockpit voice will say "you have crashed to desktop, embrace the suk" when you CTD, that would be neat.

they haven't given any upcoming patch notes. What they have given us is balance and feature estimates. I would not expect ETAs on bug fixes for any game
