Clan Wolf Sourcebook - Pg.38

You see how the lore was written? I mean come on, the evidence is right there in front of you.

Wait was that ANOTHER source quote referencing the superiority of the Clans?

Superiority = incapable of fighting in anything but open terrain?

Wow that's incredible superior.

They just were not accustomed to it but they overcame it. BTW this:

is so wrong. The Clans are multi-ethnic. That right there should have been your last post.

Yay multi-ethnic fascists. Well what I really like about the Clans is that they are made of pure Comedy Gold.

Starting with that Sect leader which had the big vision while sleeping in a Mechbay full of toxic stuff in the Air.

Yet the rules for individual units show superior traits on the side of IS units.

That's only because writers don't want the home team to loose. Disregard those facts please, they are canon, but I can we can disregard them for now. ;)

I'm literally serious! Even though it's somewhat awful.

@ Jaroth Winson
I realized you only had a L/P Ratio of 0.344, that's an improper L/P for a Clanner. So I went ahead and liked some of your posts.

I like Clans because of their XL engines capable of surviving the loss of one side torso... if it was a single reason for having a special technician caste, then I'm for it ;)

btw from a utopian view, who cares about strategy of planetary conquest ? They enjoy 100% employment, have a thorough social system caring for each citizen from birth to death (even before birth, I'd say), meritocratic opportunities for individual careers, highly developed poetry and sense for nature, independent communication networks... only disadvantage are the Trials, by which they practically massacre each other for things, which otherwise could be simply discusseed. But still, even such an outsider like the freebirth Phelan Kell could become a khan. Much better than any of the feudal-oligarchic Inner Sphere realms with their rigid nobility keeping plebeian masses content by consumer goods.

as did their (canon) genetic superiority.

That's funny. Everyone who I have ever seen or read about who has claimed to be genetically superior was about as inbred and backwards as they come.

They started with 500 genetically distinct individuals, which is oddly enough just about the absolute minimum you need for a population to sustain themselves. All of the ****** warriors they have now are still a blend of these 500 individuals over centuries of breeding. Some genetic material has been removed, but new genetic material is not added into the mix.

Yes they are all incestuous inbred fascists.
I suppose they are like a certain southern supremacist group, after they get done boning their sisters they exclaim how much better they are then those other people.

most people who lay claim to that are not hyper technologically advanced GE enabled socialistic future societies, to be honest.

but that's wrong. new material is added rather frequently, considering it is a high honor for your genes to be added to the pool.

but if your genes are just the product of 2 of the original 500 genetic lines, you're not actually adding anything new.
mmmm....recursion.

if you took 500 people of pretty much every descendancy and threw their genes in a vat, you'd pretty much have everything you could find in 1000 people, anyway IMO.

Too bad they don't have the best geneticists in the galaxy to correct those flaws before there sample size was sufficiently diverse.

And this makes them less inbred how?
No one said they had some sort of horrible genetic abnormalties...

Well no other abnormalities other than finding their own brothers and sisters attractive and having a massive superiority complex...oh and violent tendencies...oh and difficultly with the concept of love...

You know, now that I think about it...maybe they do have some serious problems.

Ashla points out they've got handwavey magic genetic engineering techniques to wave the problem away, but in the real world if you have a population of 500 people and you constantly select for particular traits then you're going drain the gene pool very quickly and your entire population is going to die to something that they're all genetically predisposed to.

I don't think anyone can reasonably dispute that in the real world this wouldn't work out so well. Good thing we're discussing a fictional universe. :)

Yeah, no, I didn't argue that point at all - I was just trying to explain where the suggestion that they'd be toothless drooling morons by dint of five centuries of doing their cousins comes from.
