OH YEAH! Have mech will customize! TT battletech skills back in action. This is going to be fun.

Paul, Can we please have closed beta start this month. You said in the mechlab video, open beta this summer. Summer's just over a month away. At least give us a month to knock the bugs out of the game before open beta, PLEASE?

At 00:34 in the MechLab Developer Breakdown, Paul is shown buying a Hunchback HBK-4G with (CB) - C-Bills no doubt, however right beside it there's an greyed-out option to buy the 'Mech with (MC). Could (MC) be the official micro-transaction currency for MW:O, I wonder?

Ninja'd but in a good way. MechWarrior Credits.. ;)

Is it me, or does the MechLab UI remind anyone else of Start Trek NextGen, only with 20x more bad-***?

Beautifoil, can't wait to watch the vids when not at work!!

IGN has a bad habit of doing this. PGI has confirmed the game is only for PC currently.

I gotta say "Kudos" to PGI for maintaining the sense of scale very well in these Mechs. I can only imagine how much better the game will look once they add all those small nuances like lens flares, kicked up debris, hanging smoke clouds, etc.

When you see the light footage, even a Medium looked a decent size larger. And Atlases looked massive. And when you were in the Atlas, the other Mechs looked proportionately smaller; the Catap was of modest size, but Jenners were like fleas to you.

Put that all into a gorgeous world, and..... thank God I'm on a forum where I can type, cause my jaw is still sitting on the floor.

Now, Garth, all I request is that you give me my Urbie. Do that, and I will buy things from the in-game store as much as possible. And I will also be as happy as I was when I found my first diamonds in minecraft.

Actually there is two different custom HBK showed. One in the video (the ForumUserKiller) and one in the Screens (Hammer 2).

The first one showed as your link says. The second one what i'm write earlier.

I'm confused on the hardpoint customization. I understand that each hardpoint has a specific type (missile, energy, etc). But there is no size or weight restriction aside from the total mech tonnage? For example, I can put in a Gauss into a machine gun slot without issue as long as the total mech tonnage isn't exceeded? That just seems strange... you can run lights with some heavy weaponry for guerrilla warfare, granted that would probably be their only gun.

1.50 Huncback video - red glow on catapult center torso - crit higlight?

And also, mechlab again - adding 2 small lasers without removing mediums? Old video or hardpoint "one slot-one barrrel" system is screwed again?

Think of them as MOUNTS that have a TYPE. If a Right Torso has 2 Ballistic Mounts (Hardpoints), then you can attach any 2 ballistic weapons as long as their total does not go over the amount of slots in the Right Torso or put your Mechs Tonnage over its maximum.

There is a critical slot restriction too. You can see, the head and the two legs has 6 critical slot each, the torsos and arms had 12 slots each. The CT (Center Torso) hold the Engine, the Gyro, the arms and legs had 2-2 acutators, perhaps hands, which also "cost" slots. Even if you have usable weight and hardpoint, if you won't have free critical slot in that section, you cannot put anything else there.

For example the Hunchback had two Ballistic hardpoint in the RT (Right Torso), but you cannot put two AC/20 there, even if you have enough weight, simply because an AC/20 need 10 critical slot - so you need 20 critical, but only had 12.

There is three type of restriction:

-Weight
-Hardpoint
-Critical slot

If you miss one, you cannot put that weapon there.
