win loss is 194/162
Not bad considering I drive a commando most of the time. I focus more on the win/loss really. I'm easy to pop, but I get a ton of assists (worth the same as a kill) and spotting bonuses. Information is Ammunition!

It was ~1.45, but I got some bad "vs pre-made" days.

To a commando SSRM is ammunition

As has been said the stat is fairly meaningless.

I do over 90% of my times in lights and mediums. I've ground my way through basic training on all of them, mastered a few.
I'm willing to do suicidal runs, if I believe that what is gained from the run will help my team win.
I pug nearly 100% of the time.
I scout, and scouted during those first few post-Artemis release days.
You worry about your KDR. I'll worry more about doing my part to try and ensure my team ends up victorious.

I don't really think KDR matters though. Hell I can grab 5 kills in my Gausscat and do **** for damage just because I waited for those last CT shots.
I do my best to do my part and support the team. If I get kills in the process, cool. I try to get high damage and high assists as a primarily Medium and Heavy players.

Not necessarily. High KDR is easily achievable in team play - especially back when 8 mans were around and now with sync drops.
It really is a dumb stat though.

Type of Mech for example.
Different Mechs - different roles, and they are all important for team success.
Who are you playing with?
People who play in organized teams and win almost every time, can have high k/d, for example 5.0, by doing 1 or 2 kills per match, simply because they rarely die. It doesn't mean they single handedly destroy 5 Mechs every game. And this isn't Counter Strike where you die in a second. Mechs have a lot of health, so it doesen't really matter who makes the killing blow, more important is who does the highest damage. And so on...

A day later premades out the ying yang.
Right now after weathering all the BS lag, jenners, streak cats, LRMs, premades and all that other crap.
Not to bad. Pug it up 100% no stat padding here.

You are the winner.
Way better than those elitist noobs who think cause they premade and only use tanky high dps mechs with maxed out items casing lame k/d ratio.
Everybody with better than 2.0 should be ashamed.

ye, but dont worry, you kills will come.
I actually made that stats up to illustrate that KDR is irrelevant - my real stats are much higher but it is.... irrelevant.
KDR in MWO does not give a good indication of your skills and contributions to what is primarily a team based game and is only there for showing meaningless e-peen.

there's nothing wrong with not giving people credit for having high kdr's, because that's not what kdr's are for. they have meaning only in the context of what you play, how you play, and who you play with, more as a marker of trends in personal performance than a comparison between people.
but if you think the only way to have a high kdr is disconnecting before dying, you're now as sad as those who accuse anyone that kills them of hacking. you've given up on the pursuit of excellence and settled for mediocrity by assuming it's only possible through dishonest means
