Best part in MW3 was that the mechs exploded after death. It gave a real feeling that you just killed a powerful machine. This should be in MWO. With some tweaks though. Make mechs explode radius and damage scale based on the tonnage of the mech. So a jenner makes a pathetic 50m radius boom and an atlas makes like 500m boom. The damage is reduced lineally the further you get from the center of explosion. Jenner could do like 20dmg and atlas like 50 dmg. There is also obviously a delay after death before the explosion happens. Like 5 second "build up" time before the mech goes boom, that gives you time to run away from it.

They have said no stackpoling. Mechs typically do not explode in big explosions. It's a rarity and they aren't nuclear. Depending on what happens they either explode like a boiler, or just release a big puff of flame. The only thing that actually explodes under what most consider and explosion is the ammo the mech is carrying. We have them already and they are beautiful.

If the reactor goes critical then it would be cool with an explosion, appart from that I think the current death mechanic is quite good.

Fusion reactors do not go critical breaches cause an instant shut down, with after effects causing a much smaller explosion.

No Stackpoling! Pay attention next time you down a mech, though- there are actually pretty explosions! We don't pay attention, though, because we're usually fighting for our life!

MW3 is not canon. No MW video games are considered canon. Stackpoling is mechs going nuclear. It comes from the author of books that loved to make mechs go nuclear even though BT canon says they can't.

BT canon says at best you can get is either a boiler explosion or a large puff of flame through the hole which caused the breach. Devs have said they don't want stackpoling because it goes against the flavor of BT and would only help encourage suicide runs, which are bad enough currently.

I suggest reading this: http://www.sarna.net...i/Fusion_Engine

THey cannot go nuclear, but can make pretty light shows doing some damage, but it is an extreme rarity.

basically, just stick to Battletech rules; knockdowns, fusion engine explosions, weapon properties etc...

At least make the mech explode if the engine or center is destroyed. I can care less about actual damage from the explosion, I just want to see a flash of light and explosion! They suck right now. BAD!

And the sound effect for blowing parts off right now sucks too... sounds like somebody dropping a glass bottle and it shatters.

Make each mech part sound different shouldn't be too hard, just throw in some new sound effects!

Thankfully they said no stackpoling ever, Sadly they also said never to 3rd person mode.

I actually am very happy with the current death animations. I find it very satisfying when I down an enemy mech.

If people want to see big explosions, I would be ok with that too. Those explosions don't make sense from a realism or lore standpoint, but that doesn't matter if they increase the fun factor for most players.

That said, I really don't want to see mechs exploding and causing damage to nearby mechs. That is just an annoying limitation that heavily discourages brawling.

I could care less about the canon rules, or the novel stories. Mechs blowing up like in previous mechwarrior games is just plain awesome. If you dont like awesome there is something wrong with you.
