A lot of the lore House camos don't make sense. But I can see what you mean. I wouldn't have any of the camos that can you place of regular mechs available for founders, but it would be nice to be able to change the base blue and the white trim.

They are unique. Only a select people own them. Take pride of your founder mechs.

Example: "Mr. Candycane"
Yen lo wang is in perpetual Solaris tournament camo. It makes no sense, it takes away from game immersion and from the value of camo as strategy.

It makes no sense that there is multiple copies of a unique mech.
It's also an idenifier to try to help with the 'pay to win' complaints im guessing.

The Yen-Lo Wang is not the Yen-Lo-Wang without the paint job it has. Also mech warfare was not big on camo that was effective. It's hard to hide a giant mech thus many to most are painted with house and unit colors.

Or page 319, in Blood Legacy, Yen Lo Wang is described as "mottled green" when Kai erushes to Victor's rescue on Aliniya
It was painted in a snow pattern in Lethal Heritage when Kai was on Skondia
Mr. Candycane was not always camo in flashy candycane colors and pattern. Minty yen lo wang camo changed accordingly. So why force a camo as uniqueness. Its hardpoint configurations (like with every hero and founder mech) are unique and distinctive enough. Forced camo takes away from game immersion.

Pretty sure the YLW kept the paint job even while fighting in the war with the Clans. So again, camo was not something used effectively by mechs. They were normally painted with house and unit colors.
And that makes my point. Whether strategy or game immersion or just pure need for uniformity, camo control should reside on the whims of the player and not be a forced matter. The founders and hero mechs are unique enough in their hardpoint configuration. Camo should be at the players discretion. Unique camos but not the only camo options at their reach.
