Years ago Armorcast Models was making resin Battlemechs. I managed to get one of the Mad Cats. It sits proudly on my shelf, though not one of my friends know what it is. I know you all will. :)

Enjoy.

Dremel tool at its best. Was fun to do, although the resin dust is nasty, thank goodness for masks.

Thanks for the kudos.

Thanks for the kind words. Amrorcast also made an Atlas. I could shoot myself now for not getting it then, But it was expensive, so I kept putting it off. Then in 2007 they stopped distributing their models. :) A sad day.

Putting props out to Anastasius Focht thread on his mechs. If you have not seen them, go check them out.

wish I could find my two old armorcast Timber Wolf models.
I must say though yours looks very nice. I did not know they made a model with such extensive damage to the left arm.

Read the thread b4 you post. Looks like OP did the damage himself. Amazing work btw.

Yea, the battle damage was done by me. Glad you like it!

While it looks great, I am still not satisfied. Ive wanted to go back and add some spew or some fine wire / wire bundles to show the internal structural damage or busted myomer bundles. But alas, I've not done it.

Almost brings a cringe of the thought of damaging or creating damage to a beautiful model but the end result was nice!

You could possibly use some internal wiring of a Cat 5 wiring and some brillo pad strands to show internal damage.

know that, still got the same model sitting on my shelves including the Vulture from Armorcast. I modded both a bit (mostly the feet for a dynamic look) and I always use a mask and the vacuum cleaner while using the Dremel.

Both needs to be glued, primed and painted tho' ...

nice work btw! especially because it's not glossy, hate that.

I never knew anyone made models of them, I envy you sir. When did these come out? If I had know, my dad and I might have had a lot of fun with these. You know, come to think of it we had some Robotech models, were those by the same company? Wish I had those still too. I played with mine cause they were moveable jointed and stuff and tore them up. Mine earned their battle damage the hard way, lol. Very nice.

Very cool! The Mad Cat has always been my favorite mech, and you did a great job on yours.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone!

Cyner: I used some very quick set bonding glue. I too had a broken leg and arm from years of moving. The glue worked just fine. The resin stays pretty strong.

Zekester: It was made by a company called Armorcast. If you do a web search, you should see their old site. Be prepared to cry. :)

That looks Beautiful..:).... --I've always wanted to get my hands on some Ral Partha pewter minitures and paint them up.... but.. alas... i never had the cash to enjoy them....---at which point .. i hope this doesn't end up the way my last game love ended.. PerfectWorld.. started out F2P... now P2W... my hopes are high for this game... and i will probably have a "Code Brown" or "Code Yellow" if i were to face off against a Timberwolf during any possibly clan invasion scenario.
