Anyone use this as a way of dealing with stationary LRM mechs?

There was one map(River something?) where if you run to the enemy base, there is a pile of wreckage. I fought 3 LRM boats there one time with 2 UAC 5's and JJs. I'd jump up behind the wreckage for the shot and then fall back down for cover.

The more advanced form, for when you are fighting mechs that actually move, is jump sniping as you run along a hill. This can work even better if you have the higher ground.

I do it every now and then. The thing is (which I'm kinda grateful for) is that unless you're at the top of your jump -- due to how the server has all hits and 'stuff' server side, you don't always shoot from where you think you are mid flight meaning you'll miss most shots.

Its do able, but not nearly as easy as it was in say MW3 or most notoriously in MW4.

On the same topic, hill humping is also a great alternative to kill LRM boats. Plus, you don't have to deal with the strange server side misses as jump snipers or poptarts do.

My Jenner flies in reverse, lasers blazing. Does that count?

Also known as 'Prairie-*******'.

I'll do it from time to time, usually to get a quick peek at enemy movements. I wouldn't rely on it as a sniping platform, because I suck at sniping.

Pop-Tarting is becoming more prominent again. Mostly though with LRM cats than anything. Not sure why a lot of A1 Streak boats have been doing it though. Its only useful to an A1 Streak boat in certain situations. I have done it a few times but you are a huge target if anyone with steady aim gets a bead on you. Right at the crest of your jump you're super vulnerable. I can understand LRM boats doing it to avoid their missiles hitting terrain or to get lock when their own team wont.

oh yeah I forgot about that. jump scouting and seeing 5 mechs before your team sees them is fun.

This is where the jumping mech would have to play smart and not use full power for every jump if it became a situation of You vs a Camper.

I have done it in a 3xLL Founders Cat. It has its uses, but it is fairly limited, especially compared to Respawn MW4

Apparently, the term is British slang for "engaging in coitus (and similar, related activities) in public locations"... :D

I love doing this in my Cataphract. Since I replaced the Ac10 with Guass I have found it much easier to hit (stationary) targets while jumping. With moving targets I'm still at 50% or so. But for anyone who is standing still, I can consistently land a Gauss round and 1-3 UAC5 rounds (depends on jamming) per jump. People think I'm just being funny until they realize that large amounts of their armor is missing.
