I listened to the NGNG Podcast and, well, honestly, discovered I was doing exactly what Russ or Bryan or whoever stated.

I was refusing to even listen to the other side, or, at least to an extent.

I'm not 100% against 3rd Person View being added to the game. I am 100% against using it, I am 100% against having to fight against other players using 3PV, though I can see ways that would work (the WOT model where you don't see things in 3PV that you don't have LOS to in 1PV or whatever.)

I've always mentioned I'd be all for it if "done right." UAV, satellite imagery, shoulder-cam, rear-view cam, computer simulated 3D Wireframe view or the like.

However, I have to say it:

We are a bunch of raging lunatics and, well, @$$#0|3$ for the most part.

I'm sorry, but we are.

This is an incredibly toxic community. The amount of nerd rage I see posted on a daily basis - and yes, I've probably been guilty of it myself - is staggering.

I am hoping that everyone can read this, objectively, and realize that the hate needs to stop. The griefing, the insults towards others that don't agree with you on any given subject, the hate between "premades" and "lone wolves..." It all needs to stop. Or at least let up a bit.

PGI getting better at communicating things of late will hopefully help calm things down.

But I hope that each and every one of us can make whatever base effort we can to make this a better, friendlier, less argumentative, and more welcoming community.

We have no small amount of control over the success or failure of this franchise, and no small amount of responsibility to try and make this the best community we can make it. Discussing differences of opinion is fine; let's all try to be more constructive about. Please?

Thank you for reading. I'll leave this soap box right here for the next guy :)

This community isn't toxic, its just rabidly passionate.

I agree people get way too invested in the matchmaking and balance issues, as they are so temporary.

But they are using this to try and justify selling out and shoe horning in 3rd person to sell camo and ruin the game for the vets.

We HAVE to put our foot down on third person, they are so obviously DESPERATE to include it against the entire community's wishes its pathetic.

PS: the community didn't remove collisions, so we didn't ruin that part.

+1. This is an insanely entitled forum, but it's funny: all the "problems" seem to evaporate when I'm actually playing...

...because this game rules.

To true sir, a well thought out and very truthful post. I have never seen such a whiney bunch of immature playerbase in a long time. The game is barely 1 year old, and a small and persistant lot are already throwing in the towel and declaring the game "dead".

Hopefully Devs will continue to ignore the whiney posts and make the game a success.

Your doing it again. This was a generalization OP. In general... :)

And here I thought the myriad of bugs, barely functioning network code, and poor design choices were ruining the game. I had no idea it was me.

Well done sir. I wish all my drops were amongst people like yourself who appreciate what we have here.

Whether this game suceeds or fails is as much down to us as a community as it is to the developers.

(...for the record, I logged in just so I could show my appreciation for your post.)

+1 This community doesn't code the game. They are the ones that suck at that, not us.

Alright PGI, we have a solution: JokerVictor will take over all coding responsibilities. He doesn't suck at it.

Clearly, PGI has things they need to fix. And that is why they keep the "beta" sticker on this minimum viable product.

On the other hand, most of us at one time or another have been grossly unhelpful. The forum is a tiny sliver of the game population, and yet the devs occasionally poke their heads in and comment.

Frankly they need to stop. They need to lay out their dorks (look it up), tell us what they are doing, start ONE thread for comments, and delete all others. They need to stop changing things due to community pressure versus play data or bug reports.

They need to ignore the few hundred people making the forums miserable and make their game. If it flops, well it isn't exactly the first MW title to do that.

There is no "other side" to poorly tested, half-hearted implementations we keep getting dropped on us.

I enjoy the game I really do, but to pretend these guys are not peddling gold while delivering bronze is unrealistic.

This just proves the OP's point. They have stated why they removed collisions and you have either disregarded it, or just didn't read it.

It's not just this community that is so intolerant, impatient, and self entitled. It's pretty much the status quo for most online communities specially gaming ones these days.
