

Ecm Is (Almost) Here, Drop Artemis?

Im pretty much an LRM-boat-exclusive player and Artemis has damned near saved my bacon up until now... But I'm concerned that the "ooo-new/shiny-toy" factor will mean everyone and their red-headed step child will be running around with ECMs... So, perhaps I'm crazy... But Im considering going back to regular ammo...
I run the Atlas DC, with 3 Launchers, and space for LRM 45 with Artemis [3 15 racks], or LRM 50 without [2 20 Racks and a 10 rack], The artemis config is 3 tons [and mega CBills] more expensive...
To me its a gambling game, the difference of 5 extra missles defiantely doesnt make up for the loss of Artemis under "normal" scenarios, but Im so scared of ECM's flooding the field that Im willing to claim this an abnormal case and "punt"
Anyone else have any thoughts?

how about running LRM20+2LRM15? You save an extra ton.

Funny I just thought about that idea, and running the numbers, not only does it does save a ton, but the DPS [damage per second] on average, is improved [very slightly, 19.15 vs 18.84] but still... So that will be my new config, assuming no artemis...
But the question still remains, Artemis or no after the patch?!? Also the specifics on ECM HAVE been realsed... targeting mechs in the bubble = double lock times, and artemis has no effect, among others
And I definately plan to have an ECM of my own set to counter... But that will only help if an ECM mech is in my grill... And still wont help targeting ECM'ed mechs beyond 180m [which considering LRM boat spec is a must]

are you a pug without your own ECM? drop all lrm/ssrm immediately because there will be plenty of people in teams against you with it ( quite a lot of teams wont go to 8man) and a lot of pugs with it on both sides who never bother to toggle it into counter mode.
Maybe there should be counter ECM exp rewards like scouting.
At the least drop a couple tons lrm ammo.

Think of it like a better AMS shield.
On that mech it's a savings of 3 tons if you take it off, on an atlas you don't really need a few tons.
with lighter mechs, i think artemis is more debatable.

Well, it shouldn't. However, I've read that if you have Artemis systems on some different launchers and equip SSRMs as well they are affected.
