Ive been running a CTF2x with 2LL, 2SRM6, and an AC2

The easiest way to aim the AC2 is to hold down the trigger, so you dont have to compensate for firing delay once you get the rhythm down.

Im noticing that the firing rate is all over the place right now, and independent from my framerates.

Sometimes it seems to fire faster sometimes much much slower, all in a single match.

I cant even figure out what its fire rate is supposed to be anymore.

It still is working OK for me, Im just confused.

I've loved AC2s since the ROF buff ages ago in CB, this is the first time ive had this happen

I've been having similar issues. took the AC2 off my CDA-3M in preference for an all-laser load out because the AC2 was just not performing any more.

Yep had the same problem with quad ac 2's on my 4x phract.

Hope it gets fixed soon.

I've noticed the same thing with 4xAC/5 build on 4X. It seems like it's firing in salvo's. Shoots a salvo of 6 shots or whatever, does a little pause, and starts up firing again.

Causes issues when trying to anticipate firing and lead targets effectively.

I heard rumours of a stealth nerf to ROF. But I checked the xml and the cooldown is still 0.5.

I think it's actually bugged. might be teething issues with changing from cryengines rocket code to bullet code or something, they definitely did something to ACs.

They are broken I think. Slow fire rate and half the time they don't even bother.

Same. I was in a game and they all just stopped working pretty much.

It's rate of fire was a bit too high, but the stuttering is annoying. I and banking on a consistent fire rate sometimes to hit lights, but the stutter causes misses.

Also noticed this issue. Hope it's being looked in to.

network traffic? Every single on of those gunshots is taking an independent round trip to the server

I dont see how we will ever see 12v12 at this rate then.

The netcode has only gotten worse since CB

I noticed that my atlas with 2 ac/2 was completely heat neutral, something that I thought should be impossible. This was especially weird, considering it was on caustic. No matter how fast I fired, my heat didn't rise from the ac/2 alone.

I think they halved the rate of fire.

Possible. Although I don't see how network effects the cycle speed of the gun in this case. If you fire the AC2 as an automatic it will stop cycling the shots. Someone posted a video on it showing the cooldown bar not resetting it just goes full and that's it.

I'm sure with the changes to the AC guns things got a little off but I don't think it will take long to get a fix.

I had four of them on my 4X but I felt I overheated just as fast with the increased cooldown.

Actually this is what UAC5 used to do. Sometimes send 2 shells in quick succession flying and then retain a consistent fire rate.

I'm thinking they mixed something up when fiddling with the effects of ACs.

And I miss the UAC5 double fire. It's the surprise double fire into an atlas that warms that tiny place called my heart.

Does sound like a lag problem. Netcode improvements should fix this so just hold tight.

Actually it isn't the guns fired as fast as the reload meter emptied.

I think they halved the rate of fire.

I'm guessing you have your AC/2's set to chain fire, change it and try it then, the ROF will remain the same, but suddenly you'll see your heat spiking much higher much quicker :)

The problem is something server-side, I usually play with around a 250ms ping so irregular ROF on the ac/2 has been with me since CB, there isn't any 'stealth ROF nerf' or 'boat ROF nerf', it's an issue with how the projectiles are handled server side since the server has to complete a number of checks before it 'allows' you to fire, it seems like the server simply can't complete all the checks required faster than 500ms (which would explain why the weapon sometimes appears to double fire, where the server is 'catching up' to the requests). Try chain firing 2 ac/2's and you'll see them fire every half second if you hold your finger down on the trigger, instead of every 0.25s as they would if the server was handling the requests properly.

Also lag issues are neither better nor worse than CB, so assertions to this degree are certainly incorrect. This should be something that will be addressed with the continuing netcode improvement (and hopefully when they bring on the new network engineer it will get even better, quicker).

There's definitely something wrong with the ROF of the AC2 after this patch.

The rate of fire definetely dropped, my heat doesn't rise as much as before, I even dropped one double heat sink to put AMS on my quad AC/2.
