when you push the activate button are you not supposed to get your mc back if you purchased a founder pack? Cause a friend of mine pushed his and got no mc at all back, thank you

It's an activation for the premium bonuses you get for matches. It's not a refund-your-MC button.

but I was under the impression that you got your MC back for the last time and once it is gone it is gone for good?

That was for the final wipe of player data and such, when they went from CB to OB. Unfortunately that time has passed. Any MC spent post-last-wipe is gone.

I don't know where you got that impression, because it's incorrect.

As of the start of Open Beta all MC purchases are final. Founder's premium time is the only thing the button was ever supposed to and does affect.

Your MC was reset at open beta (Oct 28) and will never be reset ever again. Ever. If you spent it, it's gone.

The button was for the premium time.
