EDITED VERSION:

After rereading Pauls Post and his clarifactions the items as currently planned are not necessarily better in the MC version. Just different. For the coolant flush you decide wether to be able to use it twice a game and have it use up 2 slots or shell out the MC to have it use just one slot but therefore be only able to use it once. Similar for the other items. Keeping also in mind that mechs will not get more module slots I think unless they are trying to troll or do something funny whole teams using the MC versions of the consumables to max avail (as in using all module slots for consumables) will be a rare occasion.

I will wait and see and for the time being do the planned purchase of THE X-5. But PGI are walking on a razors edge placed on thin ice here while riding on a cow. They must be very careful about the design of future consumables.

We should get R&R back... we had "consumable" ammo back then...

EDIT: Also: "consumable" armor.

This isn't P2W. This won't change a damn thing. If anything, it'll cripple whoever decides to sacrifice a passive module for a one-off coolant flush.

Keep sharing your tears, I feed on them.

i'm with this guy. however, now I think I am understanding all the rage. If you bought 5 MC coolant flushes and filled all your module slots, would that be p2w? hmm...

The MC one does not stack with anything, not even itself.

I would take a chill pill but I've already used my coolant flush this match, so I'm running hot.

Who cares. I have no attention of sacrificing my passive modules for a one-off coolant flush.

I could easily afford to P2W my way to the top (if such a path was available), but I don't see this changing anything at all.

ONE TIME USE. PER MATCH. WHO CARES.

You dont want to get hit by a 6x ppc stalker more than 1 time if at all. But that is not the point.

The point is that it uses 2 module slots with the cbills variant. I personally do care because i think that target info, advanced sensor range and maybe coolant flush are a advantage. I could easily buy them with MC but i dont want to gain an advantage through buying it. MAD!

I really hope the airstrikes work on a random area of effect. example: you are giving the ability to carpet bomb a 4 square area of the map but the chance of acually hitting anything within that that area is 30% with the same damage effect of a full LRM 10 think that would be reasonable. Or hell give the ability to drop thunder LRM mines in an area and watch a poor unsuspecting scout try to run through it and loose a leg.

I agree, this is no the right path. PGI should focus more on releasing/balancing new/current mechs, not this....not this.....

Coolant flush seems fine as laid out in the Command Chair post, so I'm not pants-wetting just yet.

However, the idea that someone can essentially pay money to damage me in a match is ... not sitting well.

So would Cbill only strikes sit better with you? you can in essence buy Cbills with MC just buy a mech with MC and sell it for Cbills. Maybe not the best way to use MC but can get you cbills quick

That would be interesting. Setting up a mine field and try to funnel the enemy into it without falling to your own trap. Sounds like a gameplay mechanic i can get behind

Yeah, my future MC purchasing (which has been significant so far - and much more to come if it doesn't turn into a P2W game) will be on hold until this gets clarified. I'm not going to be spending extra money on a P2W game.

That is not true. The C-bill version = MC version, it just takes 2 slots. The only thing that may help is a very small tactical advantage from using the 10% and 25% separately. But the 10% one frankly sucks. So it's probably not worth much.

It says it on the post you get 2 uses

Which is a big deal, if you ask me. That hugely limits it's "OMGNOOOO" potential. Sounds like a smart downside.

I understand they got to make money somehow but this is nothing more than a blatant p2w cash grab that they said would never happen.

2 35% flushes vs 2 adding up to 35%. Yeah not p2w

The MC one only gives one 35% flush. And 15% + 20% does not add up to 35%, funnily enough.

Uhh let that Skillcat fire another Alpha without overheating.
Let that 6PPC Stalker fire another Salvo without overheating.

Sounds balanced.

And the problem is? You can have the same with cb modules. The other modules are should i say... lacking.. anyway.

It only benefits cheese builds anyway, a good mech doesnt need flush anyway.
And this kind of builds will get nerfed eventually.
