A lot of changes could be made to fix the current ecm problem.

-tag lasers work for ssrm2,
-having ecm not stack creating an ecm arms race,
-reducing the ecm bubble,
-have ecm only count for the mech its on
-fix the net code
-return of knock down

Mainly its the net code more then anything else. But all the other changes could be put in place until they actually fix the net code.

Best and simplest solution I think would to have one ECM on counter mode counter ALL enemy ECMs this way it's no longer about the team with the most ECMs. A single Raven 3L could counter there enemy's 2 ECM mechs giving his fire support buddies a chance to fire LRMs. Adds team tactics that can be relied on but will not give LRM boats free rain.

The POINT IS!

ECM Scouts kill with SSRMS the other SCOUTS with NON ECM really FAST and spot easily for LRMs while cycle between MECHs the go and help other teamates to kill the heavy mechs and make them blind to play

Thats why Raven RL best Mech in the Game, running 151 kph 3 Medlasers 2 SSRMs i kill all scout without ecm in easy mode....

and no one can say ecm is fine if he say that he just do that because he selfes played all the time with ECM

Then the Games i played i see all the time: ECM is OP in Combo with SSRMS its nooblike killing non ecm scouts, no skill needed just foloow mode and ssrm ssrm ssrm down, next ssrm ssrm ssrm down... oh and spotting for lrms jup enemy DOWN :)

i can not really understand why ppl say "ECM is fine", have you another Game installed? play you another battles?

or PLAY YOU ALL THE TIME ONLY WITH ECM then true that is fine :D


in my games without team ecm, 2 ecm scouts come and by try too kill them, other side use Lrms and overrun a side... so all teamates dead

ECM will not hide a side while they moving... no its only to disturb the attacking gameplay from the other side because they are blind.

What are you guys talking about. ECM is fine, and I think the only thing they need to fix is if an ecm is set to counter thats it, in that area all the ecms are countered. The way it is now its a ecm stackathon...If one ecm on counter counters all in the area then it nerfs ecm and gits rid of trying to stack more than the other team. Other than that, I think ECM is fine. If you are trying to cry about LRM and streakcat not being as effective lol, well GOOD.

The fact that they specifically buffed TAG for LRMs while leaving streaks out is what told us that ECM was supposed to kill streaks to begin with. The fact that it didn't... :)

I have never seen so many voices talking about ECMs.. well if ECM is bad, wait till 3063, 13 years time when the Capellan bring out Stealth Armour, in that case almost EVERY mech have ECM. then if this game is still around and when you guys are fighting Capellan... this post may come alive again.

Lol i 2nd your opinion. But you forget the main point. There are people that want easy mode to feel that they are good :-)

ECM is overpowered crap. It needs to be vastly toned down. they supposedly eanted tintelligent play, a complex information warfare environment, not "I haz ECM, we winz! Oh nooes, they have 2 ECM's, we needs moar ECMS!".

your complaint is mainly about netcode issues... you are confusing the issue by blaming ECM and some peoples reliance on using streaks as a method to try to overcome aiming / netcode issues

I never use ECM, I do use streaks and LRM's (with a tag) and I think ECM is fine (though some other items like BAP and NARC need a buff but that is a seperate issue)

Guardian ECM does not block SSRMs. That is the realm of Angel ECM and that only reverts SSRMs to dumbfire SRMs. So that does need fixed.

Nerf LRM indirect fire. Right now it is too powerful. It is like we are getting C3 for free, and we shouldn't. Then make ECM work like it should. It is supposed to jam Artemis, Narc, C3, and BAP. It is not supposed to provide lock immunity, or cloak a team from radar.

The problem isn't ECM, it's PUG matchmaking. Try playing a group of four COM-3A's and see what you will end up playing against and what will be the end result after 20 games?

I'm really worried that the new skill-based MM will make things only worse for players who play the inferior (light) mechs. As I've understood, you're now guaranteed to have an enemy with roughly equal skill stat-wise. Well that doesn't help much...
