I kinda felt this way on tuesday but my stance is softening. I still think ECM is still too powerful but things are starting to stabalize and it's perfectly viable to run just about anything you did before (except maybe lock on weapons) just like you did before so long as your team has some form of ECM.

I am not saying it is sunshine and roses but it's not raining sh*t just yet.

And here we are.ECM killed real usability of 2 weapons and making indirect fire support totally useless...and well i have not problém.Just rearmed my C4 with 4xSRM6 And 2xMPLas...but playing LRM support is now worthless.Maybe it will be better after next patch when TAG will have 750m range.

OP's mechs are useless because OP refuses to use skill shot weapons. Thats not PGI's problem. They're not responsible for peoples laziness.

Wait you are telling me that I don't have a brain because I used all of the tools available? I used situational awareness and timing to determine when to look at the mini map/map. I used tools to their fullest extent and determined strategy based upon the information available and the implications of their movements while crossreferencing what I would do in the situation to determine the best course of action.

I completely disagree I could flank without issues before by using timing and hiding my movement when the enemy was distracted...now all you have to do is make sure the enemy can't see you via LoS and run. That is a backwards movement in tactics. If you couldn't flank before...you were bad. Now any ***** can flank.

The gameplay is that of BF3 or CoD or Halo now. They are all far superior games than this one--why would I want to play this when I could play those instead? MWO WAS different and with ECM implemented it isn't.

When you loose the WORSE of the tools you have available and that makes you unable to fight.. then yes.. you are lacking on the usage of your brain. ECM is nothing more than an annyonace, unless your mech is fully focused in LRMs with artemis.

Long range snipers (gauss) have been fragilized (3 hit points) and nerfed. See a pattern here?

Time to start using the ER PPC. It's actually a good weapon on par with the Gauss now.

If your meticulous spreadsheet formulas have been skewed by the opposition fielding new tech then it is on you to respond effectively and fast. Your lack of imagination, failure to adapt to a changed environment is not the fault of PGI/Piranha, it is you.

Alone.

Basically a bunch of legendary kids play this game. Only entitled people claim balance is the color of the rainbow. "Equip ECM" , "equip tag" - whatever man. Trial mechs don't get a counter to tag, unless a Raven rolls into the trial pile. Stock long range support builds likewise don't have TAG and shouldn't need it. As with every new toy or optimal troll build on the block - the response is "balanced" like a knee jerk reaction lacking common sense.

Other MW titles have superior balancing of information warfare, Living Legends being the best example. If TT is mentioned about MWO, typical claims of this isn't TT, when MWO in fact uses almost literal implementation of some things and completely slumps out on other things. There is no break from that mold, no outside the box thinking of balance ideas of entrenched people in their own ways.

Standing on a hill shortly after match start, behind some trees, overlooking the lake in Forest on the 4 line in my ECM equipped COM-2D. Cored by a single long range shot, from an enemy mech using balistics, probobly thermal imaging, zoom, and his or her MK1 eyeball. No other enemy mechs anywhere near me and there was no way they could have had me on radar because the firing mech was on the other side of the lake, close to their base.

Out of the match in the first few minutes! That pilot got a Nice Shot! from me on the All channel. And taught me to be more careful.

ECM is a tool and a limited one at that. So many counters for it if you just learn to adapt.

Do not change ECM, it's fine.

I don't have ECM on my Cataphracts, nor on my Dragons, Cents or Hunchbacks. And I am getting kills, hurting the enemy team, assisting my team and having fun. You do not need to have ECM to be effective.

I *do* think that ECM could use a little bit of tweaking, but I am holding off on making any big comments untill I have had more time to play with and against ECM mechs.

If you have trouble with enemies carting ECM, might I recommend ballistics. ECM < Giant Freaking Bullets.

So ECM stops bullets and lasers midair? Oh no it doesn't? Oh well I guess your mechs are working just fine then.

Honestly, teamwork can make LRMs useful still, and preplanning (not really available to PUGs granted) can make them nasty.

When TAG goes to 750m, it will be relatively safe to provide effective TAG services for mechs in the back.
You can't use LRMs effectively in a lone wolf environment, but the game isn't meant to be played as individuals.

Plenty of direct fire weapons for people unwilling to work with others however.

So the OP is overreacting. I have used only non ecm mechs since the patch, mostly Cataphrachs. I used my raven 3L maybe twice? The founders mech's only problem is they are the "Standard" build so people know how to counter them pretty easily. Besides that I still roll mine sometimes.
