It's not fun anymore for me, it's becoming far too technical and reliant on lances. Take the ECM, it's probably fine if you have 7 buddies on voip with a nice premade loadout. But for PUG's it's just a huge disaster, it wipes out loads of peoples Mechs. I have a garage full of useless metal, it forces me to be a brawler which I don;t really enjoy. I was a Guass sniper and an LRM boat in my PUG matches but now it's just pointless. My Guass is a time bomb and my LRM's are just cheap fireworks.

I blame myself here so no need to have a go at me, I never did my research properly, I bought into Beta, had a laugh but had no idea it would be turning into this kind of game where you totally depend on having the correct setup of team mates who are coordinated by voip.

Looks like am getting back in my Lowe where I can actually have some fun for the most part of my evening and will only be doing 2 or 3 MWO battles now and then to see what is happening.

Totally gutted :P

So your upset it requires team work, etc? Or allows for the option?

LRMs are no longer auto-win. Get some skill and take some direct fire weapons and ECM wont even matter to you.

There are several sniping options, not just Gauss. :-)

... oh you mean, equally OP sniping options. Sorry, my bad. :-)

If you were using gauss for sniping, it should make no difference whatsoever. You shouldn't be getting hit enough to break through your armor until after the match is already effectively lost anyway.

Also, just run tag with the LRMS. You should still be able to find targets even in this patch, but with TAG you can paint your own outside of 180m. It's getting its ranged buff soon, so you'll be able to target whoever you have los between 180 and 750m.

Dude I only pug (no voice) and I love the game after the latest patch, It is becoming the thinking mans FPS.
You go back to WOT if you do not like it but talking to many players here this game is heading in the right direction.

Gauss still works fine.

LL still work fine.

PPCs still work... sometimes. Maybe... Nah, wont lie to you, they suck.

SRMs still work fine.

ACs still work fine.

Which is just a really poor way to implement how tag is supposed to work. IE, does not work on direct fired missiles.

Wait... Was Mechwarrior ever not a niche game? Wonder if OP understands WoT is also a niche game with just as much technical stuff as Mechwarrior. That is, if you are good at WoT.

Yup that's about right, I am upset that MWO requires team work as I am not in a team and IRL issues stop me from joining one, I have no option other than PUG's. So like I said MWO is now a Niche game, it is just for premades.

Oh and I have plenty skill, MWO I find very easy to play, I have a very good win/loss record, I am good with lazers, missiles and gauss but I just enjoyed being a LRM boat but now I can't. Sure if I had someone running ECM for me I could do it but like I said, I do PUG and half the team don't even know what it does let alone have one equipped.

WOT is very user friendly, it makes no difference if you pug or play as a team, there are no special weapons that reqiure your team mates to have. If I want to be LRM (Artillery) I can do so and it is irrelevant what my team does, same with TD or Tank, I can play what I like to it's maximum potential. In MWO you simply can't! If I want to run LRM boat I REQUIRE team m8's to run ECM or I may as well just sit AFK.

It is niche game and will remain a niche game unless something is done to make it more noob friendly.....

Teamwork doesn't require that you be in a premade. It just requires that you work with the team you're put on rather than screaming "WOLVERINES!", banging the keys with oven mitts on, and expecting everyone to congratulate you on being a swell guy afterwards.

I'm not trying to bust your chops. I'm just suggesting that the individual who suggested that teamwork was necessary now wasn't suggesting that you join a clan.

I'm sorry you've got so many people coming at you Mack1. I do have to agree though, this isn't the same game that I first bought into. ECM seems to suffer from dev favoritism. My suggestion is either use it or stop playing for a week and hope they fix the balance.

I play most of my rounds with thermals on, as a Hunchback with direct fire only weapons, ECM actually makes my roll a lot more lethal. It basically forces the enemy (more times than not) to directly engage rather than sending a shower of LRM's over the hill.
