Indeed - personally, I would prefer a Hammerhands to a Warhammer (though, a Marauder would trump either :P).

And there apparently exists no canon Warhammer variants that mounts ACs instead of energy weapons in its arms, so it is not a matter of getting a Warhammer (if implemented) and sticking ACs in the arms to make a faux Hammerhands...

yeah me too,me gusta autocannons

I could see the Orion over the black knight because at this point in the game lore a black knight was a very rare mech I think only Comstar had them. Orions were still being made by House Marik at this time.

The problem is that, as soon as piranha puts the name of a previously unseen in the game, the hounds will smell fresh blood (money), and will try to bog the game in legal paperwork.
And thats a risk PGI cant take lightly.

Enjoy the mechs we got, soon with the clans, a bucketload of great designs will arrive and lots of fun for evabody will be possible.

that wont happen yet. because they'll wait probably a 1-2 years to figure out how much money PGI has earned to start a lawsuit for maximum profit. cause Harmony Gold is spineless like that.

Don't bite my head off but if we couldn't have the un-seen 'mechs why did they use a Warhammer in the Mechwarrior 5 / Re-boot Trailer ?
There are plenty of other 'mechs to choose from so why that one?

Every time we post a new topic about one of the unseen, someone at Comstar (probably Paul) kills and eats a puppy.

For the love of Blake people, what do you have against puppies!

No. I am not going to discuss it further. Please stick with the topic.

if you're not intelligent enough to provide a reason for why you made this a separate thread, then obviously you're not capable of truly discussing the inclusion of the warhammer.

Clearly the OP doesn't know that it is spelled 'M-A-R-A-U-D-E-R'. It's the machine that men want to pilot and women want to drive, uh, with.

'W-A-R-H-A-M-M-E-R' is how you spell the name of an inferior machine, much preferred by those of low moral standing and poor taste.

+1 for Monty Python reference!!
...and then -1 for preferring the Black Knight over the legendary Warhammer.

And the Quickdraw remains without a vote... yes, it's kind of hard to love that hideous thing. But it's not that bad, I had lot's of fun with a certain modified Quickdraw named Quickdeath... :P

Part of why the Quickdraw isn't voted for is cuz we already have a 60 tonner, the Dragon. We have 65 tonner in the Catapult. That leaves 70 and 75 for the Heavy class.

I (And some others) would prefer to have more range in the weights. It kind of bugs me we have two 4/6 50 tonners for example. I don't know why we do. I'd rather one of those was a 5/8 or 6/9 and better yet 55 tons.

So people (like me) are hoping for a 70-75 ton chassis just to have more variety in the game.

Aren't the last 6 choices pretty much rare relics from the Star League era ?

Actually a lot to recommend the Hammerhands over the Warhammer for MWO, considering the hardpoints. You can mostly replicate a Warhammers capabilities with a Black Knight (minus SRM-6 and MGx2), the Hammerhands brings a mix of everything to the table for a more flexible design, especially if it has an extra missile hardpoint floating around.

Exactly right, PGI dosen't/shouldn't want to add the unseen/reseen mech's for reason above. You need to look at it from PGI's point of view, why the hell would they risk getting the game mired down in legalities again when by playing it by the book we still get not just a new mech game, we get a frickin awesome mech game! No way in hell I want to them to risk it for all our sakes, without them who knows when or if we'd have seen another mechwarrior sim.

I have to admit, I am a bit bummed by the whole unseen, reseen, whatever thing because my first thought when I found out about this game was "MARAUDER!!!!!!"

However there are a few mechs out there that can eaily fill the Marauder/Warhammer role (Different looking Mechs for sure but very similar in capabilities). For example, one of my personal favorites, the THUG.

2 PPCs
2 SRM 6s

Basically go to the Mechlab, swap out one of SRM 6s and its ammo for a couple medium and small lasers and you basically have a Warhammer.

So my vote is definately for the Thug. Hopefully we will see it :P

Cauldron Born is my veeeerrry favorite :P
Coincidentally I believe it's original production date was 3049, the same year the game is due for official release...

Durable, fast, powerful. In mw4mercs I put 2 lbx20's and 2 ssrm6's on there, crank up the speed and slash the armor. I only wish it had ecm. That config is not for longevity but when I get close, it's over.

If we can get even one clan mech thrown in this would be my choice.
