We know for sure 10 'mechs we'll see.
What we will or won't get to play with at Beta or full release is all still in the hands of the coders and artists. You can bet though that Piranha is going to be very careful with the whole Intellectual Property thing. The last thing they need is that kind of fight adding to the risk they are already taking on this.
I'd love to see some of my old friends make it into this. My first TT pilot was in a Shadow Hawk. I had several pilots go through Pheonix Hawks as well.
If the devs stick close enough to the spirit of the TT rules I'm almost positive you won't see the LAM variants. According to the tech manuals they were extremely rare by 3025, let alone 3049. (I'm going from memory here so feel free to correct me if anyone has their TROs handy )

I can understand your thinking on this but I started playing the game in 1985 these mechs were part of the history of battletech. To not have them in the game would be like playing a world war 2 game without panther and Sherman tanks. And trust me as I said before I know that they will not look like they did but they accounted for almost 80 % of the mech production during this time frame and in fact most of the mechs so far introduced in the game with a few exceptions were very rare. Do you really want Jamie Wolf or Morgan Kell piloting a catapult?

Ya I see your point. It's just an ugly situation the franchise has gotten itself into. I suppose we'll just have to wait and see what happens in MW:O

HG never actually owned any of the rights to the designs the Unseen were based off of anyway. FASA just didn't have the cash to show up those wannabe's in court.

1. We stop calling them unseen, hell most of us know what they look like, call em what they are.
2. We buy obcene amounts of beer and ensure it is cold. I mean very cold.
3. We toast the devs and praise them for their good work and our good fortune. I mean.. mechs and cold beer.. who needs a cooling vest at this point?
4. We drink this beer until we need to get rid of it the old fasioned way.
5. We continue until cold beer is gone and I can't pilot a mech.

I take issue with point number 5 (in bold), because a true MechWarrior would never be too drunk to pilot their 'Mech.

List of Unseen
Compare the MW:O Centurion, to the Old School Centurion
While VERY similar, and ALMOST identical, they aren't identical and the MW:O version looks way better.

I am totally onboard for a redesign so far the treatment done to the ones showcased appear to look like they could work in real life. From the time of the first battletech table top game I have wanted to know what it is like to try my hand at piloting a wasp to see if I could be as good as the people in the fluff or pilot an Archer and see if I could live up to the standards of Jamie Wolf or Morgan Kell. Heck give me a Warhammer and let me see if I could destroy as many mechs as the black widow. So I am asking the developers to please give me the chance to make my dreams come true!

Even though Project Phoenix is 3067 tech, you can simply RetCon the artwork and use it for 3049.

Of course, HG may decide to cause trouble anyway. They're the EA of the RPG gaming world.
