I once had a clear shot at an enemy Hunchback, and a Jenner pilot on my team popped in my way at the last second.
I laughed at the smoldering Jenner, while proceeding to fight the Hunchback. Another favorite is when the leading Atlas starts to back up into you...

The K2 can deal out quite a lot of damage (depending on build).
It's fast (84.4kph with all xp maxed and a 315 engine).
It has great torso twist.
It has tiny side torso's to hide big weapons and an XL engine in.
Cons:
It has a massive ct that is hard to miss.
It has a head hitbox almost as massive as the ct that is hard to miss if you're shooting the ct.
Conclusion:
It's a glass cannon.

when I drive my hunchback, with 1 less large laser, I get more kills, better damage-per-round, and just dont get ganged up on, but when I drive my K2 (wich has more armor, is faster, and has 4 large lasers and DHS instead of 3 large lasers and DHS) I get stomped into the dirt, regardless if our team gets stomped or not
am I just doing something wrong? does the K2 have a bigger hit-box for the torso or something? or am I just really unlucky?
So you run a quad large laser K2 and wonder why you become a priority target?
The answer is simple.4 large lasers hurt a lot and if your mech is not taken out quickly it will kill friendlies.

-Cheese builds
-No jumpjets
Cheese builds make you a priority target. As has been said, if they see that you're an energy-based K2, they'll usually move on to something more intimidating.
Jumpjets make the other cats very difficult to put down if they're used well. They're also one of the only ways to stay alive once everyone sees your mech and simultaneously thinks "BOOM! HEADSHOT!". Without them, you're gimping yourself.

See: GaussCat and AC20Cat hatred threads....
also a cat is easy to 1 shot so I'll take a quick shot at one and maybe get the enemy down a mech fast

I think they did a great job balancing it. Epic weapon-boating potential, but probably the easiest mech to headshot in the game. It also advertises your loadout from like 800m away.
It's still my fave mech...

AC/20cat = extremely slow (smaller engine, and no XL), high alpha, low salvo, low range
AC/10cat = my build
It hurts.
And it does faster DPS than a gausscat.
At high range. (160% that of the AC/20)
With faster fire. (Than both of the other two)
And the same total damage per ton as a gausscat, and 10 damage per ton higher than an AC/20 cat.
You do the math.
Meanwhile, my 'cat and I will be shooting you from behind. You might want to hurry.
