I think repair costs are a reasonable deterrent to suiciding. Without any information released yet about how points will be awarded for scouting/detection, it's premature to call for a death penalty for scouts because unit command is asleep at the wheel.
As for people getting bored having to wait for 15 minutes, whoopty-doo. Everything I'm seeing in this game so far seems to indicate the prime market they're driving for isn't people with the attention span of a fruit fly.
To be honest, I dont really care if I have to wait for a match to be done before backing out or if we only get one starting mech, I'm just wondering for the success of the game itself. WoT wouldn't have the popularity it does now if you had to wait out a 15m match after getting artied in the first 2 min.

The Chameleon!!!

It's the ultimate training 'Mech! Moderate tonnage, decent speed, gets newbie pilots familiar with the heat scale as well as jump jets with relatively cheap, basic weapons... This 'Mech should give new pilots a decent feel of the game in order to figure out which direction they want to go in their 'Mech career (lighter, heavier, faster, more firepower, etc...), and still let them survive long enough to get some C-Bills to get those 'Mechs that they want.

2: I -think- money will be involved to the point where you can probably get two starting 'Mechs in light/med, or an assault or heavy, which would most likely not die within the first 5 minutes.

That isn't the assumption. The assumption is that we wont get a chance to start another game because we'll only have one mech.
OK. You have 1 mech, you start a match, you get destroyed in the first minute (overheat ammo explosion, thems the breaks). You exit the match, hit the repair button, and start another match. the whole time the rest of your lance/company is still fighting the in the first game.
I am still not seeing the part were 1 mech means you can't join a second game after the first.
