I've been running my dragon 5N lately just for the sake of variety and I decided to mount 3 machineguns on him. Interesting side effect I've noticed is that some people get mad when being shot by machineguns. Usually it's some banter after they are dead or out of combat but I had one guy actually stop on his tracks and just let me have it in all chat. He is flaming me in the all chat about my machineguns all the while I rip him apart. I found it quite interesting. So what about you guys?

I find that the soothing massage on my armor as I blast you away with real weapons has a calming effect. Keep it up.

That is teh psychological effect of MGs for you! I hear the ping ping ping of MG fire and I know I can ignore it for a few, But it does require my attention... eventually.

Well its sad, but the other day I was running around on my 3L and I encountered two other Ravens. I started thinking about how to get out of the situation while fighting them and then I realized one of them was shooting me with machine guns only.

With an incredible sigh of relief, I completely ignored him and killed the other Raven, and then him.

I love the arrogant SOBs who ignore them as well.
Had a dragon last night ignore them until my lasers followed them punctuated by my gauss.....boom!

Yeah but it was your lasers and gauss that killed him, not the machine guns. If all you had were machine guns then he could ignore you completely and still remain a most humble subject.

But I only consider myself a man since i've managed to kill a fully armored jenner with a 4-MG Cicada.

I once got killed by a trial K2 Cat's MGs (I forget which mech I was in but it took out my XL engine).

Funny story for some reason (even though i read the patch updates) I still felt that machine guns were pretty much just some form of annoying psychological warfare technique, so last night i had a dragon (3 MG, a gauss he didn't fire) hugging my six giving me a full shiatsu. I actually typed to him as i moved towards friendly lines "stop that, it tickles" Then announced to my team i could use someone to kill the dragon annoying me. (Cataphracts don't turn so well )

10 seconds later he blew out my rear torso... As I slumped to the ground I swore I won't underestimate the relaxing power of the mighty MG ever again.

I was doing my Jenner thing and attacking some LRM boats. First one was a Hunchback with some defensive small lasers - definitely kept me dancing for awhile.

The next one was a Centurion. I started doing my thing, but then I realized that he only had machineguns and LRMs, so I walked right up to him and shot him in the back. He turned around and started shooting me, but didn't move, so I stayed where I was and let him shoot me the whole time it took me to focus in on his head and laze it off.
