Do People Not Know This Is Beta?

If it advertises like release (web banners everywhere I go, and offers you to buy MCs the moment you log on), has no wipes like release, has a $$ shop like release and charges you premium time (with ticking time started for founders) like release, but is bugged and has the level of content of an early Beta ... Is it still Beta?
No. It's just a bad/ premature release, that hopes it can put in enough fixes and additional content over time to retain its current user base ... forget about growing it.

Then apparently you can't read?
"Alpha software can be unstable and could cause crashes ... The exception to this is when the alpha is available publicly (such as a pre-order bonus), in which developers normally push for stability ... The alpha phase usually ends with a feature freeze, indicating that no more features will be added to the software. At this time, the software is said to be feature complete."
"Beta (in other words prototype (named after the second letter of the Greek alphabet) is the software development phase following alpha. It generally begins when the software is feature complete. ... Open betas serve the dual purpose of demonstrating a product to potential consumers, and testing among an extremely wide user base likely to bring to light obscure errors that a much smaller testing team might not find."
Cool aid. You has it.

cars and restaurants arent good comparisons because they dont say it. It doesnt matter if you are able to buy things in the beta state, it's still beta. You can consider it anything you want, but you are wrong. Your opinion doesnt matter. It says beta, performs like a beta, has changes like a beta, and says it all over the place.

I suppose everything but their cash shop is in beta, then.
Ultimately, trying to assert that its effectively release, or defend that its beta doesn't matter. The general public will judge, and they will not open wikipedia to check what beta really means. They will play the game, be disgusted by its awful new users experience, and either stay because they're insane as the rest of us, or leave.
There is no doubt the game is being hurt by its current state (especially the new user experience, of which PGI claims they're working on. Something I'm happy to hear). Saying "oh well its just beta" won't make those users return with wallets open. First impressions are everything, and that's a big reason why there was such a huge stink when PGI first wanted to enter open beta.
I understand money issues, I really do. And that's what this boils down to. PGI had to get their product into the market and get cash flowing in. Ideally, they wouldn't have entered open beta until every weapon, mechanic, and CW was in the game. Planetside 2 didn't enter open beta without its huge world, but then again, Planetside 2 has Sony to help fund it.
My point is, trying to act as though its beta (whether or not is is), will not make customers return or not leave. That's why we're here, to give feedback. Although it seems more than a few people don't seem to understand that and think that "its beta" or "stop QQing" are legitimate defenses. That type of talk kills games through stagnation of ideas and feedback.

Just cause a company says something doesn't make it true no matter how many times they say it.

Let me try this again, No one is forcing you to play this game.
Its a work in progress beta, that went OB to get more people to test it.
Go play something else for a few months and let the adults test and bug report stuff.
and its hard taking anyone serious with an emo haircut

Cherry flavor today? Or is that grape ... the differences are subtle.

We ALL think it has potential! Nobody wants the game to fail. It's just that PGI tends to make bad decisions and then is too stubborn to admit it and fix it.

name a game company who hasn't made bad decisions. And most of them come from forum whiners.
So instead of everyone just complaining how about write up a nice constructive thread with all your suggestions, instead of i hate this remove it, or Nerf this like most people do.
Coding takes time when its on a big scale like online games and changes will come in due time

Why is it odd that you have never seen one of us? It's not like we can decide who we drop against? For the most part ML doesn't do a lot of advertising since we are a military only outfit. As for me, I rarely play anymore. Game isn't fun, hasn't been fun for a while, and won't be fun for a while. I just come back to refresh the skills and keep up with my ML brothers (and 2 sisters). And before you say something st_pid like "then why are you here if you don't play the game!?", Not playing the game doesn't keep me out of the loop. Like I said before, I want the game to succeed but I'm not scared to point out if PGI is making a mistake or failing in there duties as a game developer.

you arent an actor and being famous doesnt happen because you say so.
lrn2 analogy if you dont want to look stupider and more like a spoiled little brat.
its beta because they say so and they are building it.
