Still better than them facing experienced players in their pimped out master mechs. I'm experienced and I'd probably drop in trials occasionally if there was a trials only game mode.

Well that would defeat the purpose of trials altogether :-p. Maybe if there was a discount on stock only mode mechs that you still had to purchase?

? When was the last time you dropped without a group in a trial mech? Did you really enjoy that? Was your performance so great that we stand in Awe? phhht
The OP is suggesting something quite reasonable. Trial mechs vs trial mechs. Experienced players will have an advantage, sure. But not in a 'Suped-up' ride. New pilots will learn a lot quicker in that field, then dealing with the current layout.
Pug games with new players is what will keep this project going forward. Disenchanting and ego tripped attitudes like above doesn't help at all.

I don't follow what you mean. Trials exist to give new players a way to earn money without needing to pay cash up front. The way I see it, in a stock-only game type, you can drop in any pure stock mech. Trial or not. New players who have yet to buy a mech would of course be limited to the trials for that week, but it wouldn't keep out other players who want to roam around in their stock mechs just because they aren't on the trial list for that particular week.

Well ok then, I just want PGI to make some money so they finish this game. Trials make you want to buy new mechs, if you had access to all mechs, even if stock, the urge to buy one to customize it would be lower.

No sir. It's going to be counter vs counter and ultimate team work.

When you combine this with the dual gauss/ssrm/srm laser boating etc, its pretty clear we will be stuck with boat warrior for some time to come.
Hopefully at some future date PGI will be able to let us run stock mech battles.
Since anyone pro enough knows stock mechs is where the real mechwarriors come to play
