Okay..today there were either no 8 mans on from 0700 hours EST to now. Are there really that fewer 8 mans or is something going on with the server? These days I'm not sure which to believe.

Sad to say, but I called it before the patch. They're all sync-dropping or have gone back to fours because they were losing C-Bills dropping against each other. Repairs, slower matches, less matches... even the better salvage couldn't compensate for the lost matches they weren't dropping into. ECM probably has something to do with it, too. You don't do something that is not fun again and again unless there is a great reward at the end of it. Dropping 8v8 takes away much of the incentive.

the use of aimbot programs make 8 mans terrible. a few games of constant head shot kills by the same players tends to drive the honest players away. I'll take 4 mans and if lucky double four drops over getting shot in the head within 30 seconds of game start.

Based on what im seeing in our vent, for us it really has less to do with 8 man competition and more to do with the state of the game. 8 man drops have a lot more down time due to people coming and going, and trying to get a good group make up. Add to that many people seem to be dropping their playing time (for various reasons), and its just gets too hard to manage 8 man groups. This further pushes up the down time as the queues increase. Yes there are some who can not hack it in 8 man but there are also a lot who just do not have the time with the way 8 man is setup.

Golds don't want to fight people unless they have a higher than 50% chance of victory. That's why they love doing pubstomps. That's why they're bitching about 8v8's. You know it's true.

personally Im not playing 8v8 cause Im not playing the game at all, combo of a bit burnt out and not enjoying the ECM wars has meant Im just not enjoying the game enough to spend time on it now.

Like, me... I'm at work right now! I don't typically get into the game until after 11pm eastern, but even then, we did run into the same groups back to back matches a few times and then drew one of those groups a third time last night. Very few 8s online last night (I'd have to estimate 5 to 10 tops).

DDC trains are ruining 8 mans.

They should remove ECM from the Atlas DDC and leave it only to Scouts if you want my honest opinion. If they want a slower mech with ECM to benefit brawlers, put it on a Centurion. They need love anyway if you ask me, and I don't play them, I just destroy them often.
