Regardless of the status of the game, the Community will forever be Beta.

Second to that would be the netcode and lag (which, actually as of recently I've found that shooting directly at Jenners/Ravens hits more often than lag shooting
![;)](https://static.mwomercs.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/laugh.png)
Third which would be the new player experience, econ/trial mech fiasco.
The two latter have been said to be addressed and are coming to be fixed (at least in part) by next Tuesday. The whole client instability thing and low optimization is really just a long haul fix, that probably won't be addressed for at least a few months, sadly.

Edit: Updated.
I'm not a developers not did I claim to be one. I cannot tell PGI how to fix the netcode or implements something that resembles a real maching system. What is your question again?

Hmmm...an "OPEN BETA" where anyone can download said product, and then "BUY" with real money, goods and services, some people get the impression that "BETA" is not the correct term anymore. The product is being sold to the general public, it has been brought to market, finished or not.. The End.
Devs call it beta and have a launch date in 2013.
Game, set, match, call your mom, look it up in a dictionary, go to disney land, kiddo.

Paying customers call it ****, run to nearest competition.
Which is more important, the Communities perception or the Developers perception, when you are talking about a business and making money?

My question is : What would you do differently?
For starters, they have stated netcode is a #1 priority and hired new engineers to get it in before launch.
They've stated the new player experience is a priority and are trying to get it ready before launch.
They're rebalancing the weapons since TT doesn't translate to FPS so easy.
They've added the first stage of true EW and are going to improve upon it.
In short, they've stated a number of goals and their progress toward them. Do you even read that forum?

We all know what internal testing means to them.
Mulling over things verbally while all sitting at a large table with blacked out tinfoil windows and then deciding to just dump it raw into the game and see what happens.

Please explain to me what do you have to gain by deliberatly misrepresenting what i have said. Are the forums a game to you in which you win or lose debates? Clearly the issue is that I and some others do not think the glaring issues in this game are not addressed and the develoopers are not beeing sufficiently transparent enough.

I'm a paying customer, and there is no competing mechwarrior product I feel like reliving my childhood on.
Community perception is important. But it's beta. BETA. *roflcopters*

What competition? I must of missed the other Mechwarrior games in development and release. I am not aware of any other sim style giant robot games except for fan made mod(good stuff but not my thing) MW:LL

Nope "YOU" are wrong, but "SEMANTICS" are fun aren't they.....
.
A product "BROUGHT" to market, is still a product brought to market finished or not..
.
You have no game, therefore no set, or match... So, for one of those kids that are used to getting a "Participation Trophy", here you are, it's all for you... Kiddo

They can but then the average user who doesn't frequent the forums and doesn't look stuff up past what is in the actual game in regards to information, will simply just walk over to Hawken or Planetside 2 and find a much more enjoyable experience. All the while the fanboy's screaming " BUT GUY'S IT'S EARLY BETA!!!!", as if we haven't been in beta for like 7-8 months.
What's funny is that he used to be a huuuuuuuuuuuge fanboy/PGI Defender( no offense, we all have our opinions and stances). To see him have doubts about the game is saying A LOT.
And how long exactly do you believe beta testing actually takes? Let me guess..a few months, since that's what all the Open Beta's you've been in over the past years were right? Pssst..those weren't beta tests, they were Demos of the final release software, typically there are no 'new' changes to what you saw in those 'Open Betas' and the final release that wasn't already documented in that demo you were playing in the readme.txt ...if you bothered to read it, which you obviously didn't.
MW2 was 5 years in development and testing before it was released, and it had bugs.
MW3 was 2.5 years in dev and testing and had bugs.
MW4 was 2.5 years in dev and testing and had bugs.
MWO is 1 year into dev and testing..and hey look, it has bugs!
Luckily, MWO is only halfway through the standard dev and testing process before getting close to release state.

See this is just ridiculous. I am currently producing a new process that is set out to not screw over customers at a Fortune 100 company - but at the end of the day, customers are going to complain, because they feel slighted in some way or another or because we couldn't meet their desire within the confines of the law. It sucks, but that's life, and at the end of the day most customers are going to be happy with the end product.
Game design, essentially, isn't all that different - unless you screw the pooch. I see them making lots of good steps toward balance and newbie experience, and a *long* way to go. I'm patient. Are you guys ? Clearly not. Come back in a year.

Well if you feel you've lost a debate perhaps you should rethink your statements before you hit post. I am not going about nitpicking so much as I am showing you exactly what you said and giving you what you wanted. You want something that already exists. I gave it to you. I mean when they have an entire section of the forum discussing the issues of the game and what they intend to do with it your entire "not sufficiently transparent" is kind of a moot point to most rational people.
Short of them privately messaging you with upcoming changes and plans what do you want from them exactly?
