Then they released it in a half-finished (being kind ... more like 30%), buggy state in an effort to monetize. That's ... not a good sign. Anyone who has any experience in business understands what that means.
Us "founders" took a gamble on a second/third tier developer that had never made a game that was above "mediocre", at best, because it was the only way a new Mechwarrior game was going to come about. Sadly, it appears PGI hasn't improved over the years, and this probably isn't going to end well for the fans.
I originally gave them about a 50/50 shot at producing something that wasn't horrible given their track record. I've since reduced that to about 20/80 or 10/90. It's still possible, but not likely.
