Yea, me too,
I much prefer D&D math to MWO math, mostly because I have a more encompassing and powerful grasp of the math related there.

No... because I started off doing math and then discovered that the "math builds" I was doing based on DPS or DPS per ton totally didn't work in game
I just ended up trying a bit of everything before settling on the weapons I liked

the only thing the math helps with is determining whether to use single or double heatsinks based on maximum heat cap and diss you can get out of either for a given build, for weapons the only way to find something that works for you is to try it and see what suits your playstyle

True! I actually spent about half an hour until I figured out that speed tweak doesn't actually give 10%, but 7.5% speed increase.

Numbers are Cool. Charts are even cooler. But nothing beats the act of Shooting an enemy mech square in the Face with a well aligned ALPHA Strike... :BOOM on you *******!" (redacted starts with a B and has an itch) LOL

Generally, the only math I use is figuring out how fast I should be driving any given chassis, and at what point I'd be better off in something smaller/bigger.

Other than that it's based more on what weapons I like.

funny thing is, you spend like 30min to an 1hour crunching numbers for all your builds and mechs. still wondering if you should spend your cbills or not, just to find out your builds been done before and its posted on the forums :0
