I've seen far too many LRM boats thinking they are fixed artillary pieces at 999 meters away to make that mistake. Mechs have legs, I use them.

Ya, didn't you know? It's the best role ever. You can just park right on top of a hill, drink your coffee, and fire missiles at enemies. No one ever snipes you, throws missiles of their own at you, flanks you, or bothers you at all. Your missiles never hit terrain either and you do # 1 damage every game. Without even spilling your coffee.

Step one: on top of the hill doesn't always literally mean on top of the hill, the high ground can be a place with good line of sight or an angle with little cover for the target. It can also mean a place where you are well defended by friendlies.
Step two: I don't like coffee, I prefer beer.
Step three: Snipers almost always run for cover when there is a missile barrage headed their way, even if it is dumbfired.
Step four: Enemy missile are mostly neutralised by your own ECM cover.
Step five: Enemy flankers must also deal with your friendly mechs if you are positioned correctly.
Step six: Too many "coffees" can cause you to become drunk and spill your "coffee" regardless of the combat at hand, this is an unnavoidable fact of LRM boating.

Why bother? At 300m, just use Medium Lasers instead... Even at 450, you can just use a Large Laser instead...

Why would you devote 100 tons of mech to a single type of weapon and not get the 1ton laser that drastically improves said weapon in every single way just by leaving your mouse in the box you need to keep it in to maintain lock anyway......especially if you are going solo with no support to break enemy ecms/protect you.
I just do not understand some people :/
