Just out of curiosity, I've seen a few k2 cats do it, but other then that I'm unsure what could really do 4 large lasers well. Most of the ones I've seen seemed have major heat issues. So for that matter I guess, is it even feasible?

Edit: also is there a large database of builds anywhere. Ive seen the ones on the forums and checked out mecspecs.com... but really that seemed really really lacking. I know we are in beta, and build viability can literally change from patch to patch. Normally I would experiment but I don't have the time to grind out the funds, and this game has already got a large hold on my wallet.

Atlas RS only one. Slap in the Standard 350 engine and max it out with double heatsinks (on top of the 4 LL ofc). You can have multiple alpha strikes and can keep up chain fire for long time.

AWS-8Q. And you still have free weight to slap in 3xML.

He clearly stated "can do it well". Question wasn't what mech can fit in 4 LL.

well if you can't get along with a mech that works like a f***ing dream for me then it's not my problem :)

EDIT: Seriously though, while AS7-RS with the largest engine does have better heat efficiency and armor, the 3xML's 15 damage on AWS-8Q does come in handy at those "FINISH HIM!" moments. Based on my experience, I would not say 8Q with 4xLL is hard to manage the heat, unless you're the ******* kind of guy who Alpha's every time.

Yeah, that particular setup works great, damage is not great but it makes up for it in accuracy, range and speed.

I'm running a AWS-8T with four LLs and two SRM6s. Well - I used to play that one as a Dual-ERPPC with two LRM Launchers - 10s or 15s depending on engine. Switched to SRMs after ECM.

Well - I like my 9M much better anyways and I'm done with the Awesome-grind ... :)

-4P Hunchie.

Anything bigger and you'd better be packing more than 4LL.

Yes, it's viable, std engine or xl to taste. If a crap player like me on a crap machine like mine can do well with it, it's viable. I first built it as a joke, then realized for it to really be a joke build I had to strap on a 5th LL. :)

Dragon with 4 LLaser, XL300 and a total of 17 DHS works great.

The two you have in the arm can be fired indefinately and the two in the shoulder are for that extra damage when needed.

I recently switched the two in my shoulder to ER LLaser to give me a longer reach in the initial sniping.

The best thing is the speed you move at, you are hard to catch and can always find an open flank to use. I've even become good at shooting Lights with their lag-shield.

As an added bonus. Your enemy will think that he's being hit by 1 or 2 LLaser when in fact the beams are twice as powerful. I've seen many enemies react too slow at the real damage that they're taking.

I run a 4 LL AWS-9M with an XL385 It has 21DHS and runs 83.8kph. Heat is still a big issue but you'll have the ability to run out of a situation and dictate where the fight takes place.

The CTF-1X can run five but you'll need to tweak the build to your play style because it's on the very edge when it comes to heat management.

The AS7-RS can do four in its sleep though.

Last night we ran up against an Awesome with 6 Large Lasers. My buddy died the moment he ran past the corner and didn't know what hit him.

But we managed to take out his support and when he was alone he had such heat-issues that he only managed one shot before he died.

It was scary because he could deal an insane amount of damage in a short time but when he didn't have any team-mates to hide behind when he cooled down it was easy to defeat
