Driver are up to date.

when I try to start the match anew I get the message:
you already have an instance of the patcher running and indeed the patcher does run but it does nothing.
when I wait 5 minutes I get a windows error message that the program is not running and that I can go on or cancel the prog.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall the game, but the update-client won't pop up, just like when the game didn't start before.
I left the task open for half an hour until it self-terminated, this is the error description (german client):

How will VPNing to someone else's proxy solve the problem?
/EDIT Having seen this link, I disabled my OpenDNS filtering anyway and the game now starts. This means that the OpenDNS seem to be playing silly buggers with MWO, as it has been working fine all week until today!

just create a link to the file
"C:\Games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\Bin32\MWOClient.exe"
on your desktop and to work with you only have to put
'-nopatch'
behind it. It should look like:
"C:\Games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\Bin32\MWOClient.exe" -nopatch
It did help me. Maybe it works for you too

And it might be a problem with dynamic DNS not with open DNS, means I don't use openDNS.

And VPNing to someone else proxy seems to solve the problem.

There is a workaround above regarding running the game with a -nopatch option, BUT that will not help you if you need to patch. Trying a restart of modem and router to determine if that helps me.
Edit: I can confirm that restarting my router and modem did indeed allow me past the 'invisible patcher'.
So, I'd recommend anyone facing this first restart computer, then router, then modem, or all three.

Restart of the computer as well as the router didn't fix it for me.
Support told me that it might be due to anti-virus, so I straped my pc naked of all security programs and didn't find it working as well. After that the answer was to make sure no TCP or UDP Ports are block by firewall and/or router, but that doesn't fixed it as well.
I think somethings seriously broken, so keep spaming the support instead of reinstalling the whole 1600 MB game client.
Reinstalling however fixes the problem, but it happened out of the blue to me before and my guess is that it will happen again.
