That was just ridiculous. A jenner just spent 5 minutes weaving in and out of our entire team, almost completely immune to damage because all he did was teleport from one place to the next. He'd look like he'd be going left, and then suddenly teleport to the right.

What the hell PGI. Just what the hell.

You should probably just quit.

bad ping is bad...

PGI can't help that there are bad internet connections... even the best online game will have players with god awful connections who will warp all over the map.

and not even begining to mention the people outside of North America who want to play, but must connect to NA servers...
maybe one day they will get more regional servers

Why would I quit when I have so much fun playing for free and conversing with reputable persons like yourself?

You'd think PGI would be at least somewhat interested in broken game mechanics rather than just accepting that any player that has a problem with teleporting invincible Mechs would stop playing.

Again.

Actually I checked and his ping was better than mine, around the 60ms range.

I'd love to see them divide the population between regional servers when maximum CCU never broke a few thousand before they removed the counter.

But no, the problem isn't ping (though it certainly isn't helping), it's just the general netcode for the game. The developers have acknowledged this and have said that it's an on going fix.

The problem is that the only one seeing the warping should be the pilot. Those with good pings should see him moving as any other mech would.

Again, the pilot in question had an excellent ping!!! Better than mine!!! I checked!!! Unless the Ping readout is wrong (I wouldn't be surprised!!!), his connection was not at fault.

You'd have trouble hitting the broad side of a barn too if it teleported in and out of existence in random directions m8 o7 :smith:

Ragequit when he ran into my quadra ac/2 4x. Hardly even a reliable mech, just 'annoying'. Kdr sooo important.

This happens with every online game if you're sporting a ping beyond 400.

Disconnecting is an infamous way to avoid your death registering on your kdr and also denies the killer any awards, much like crashed players (note the 'PLAYER has killed' and or lack of kill awards flashed).

Can be quite a spiteful thing to do, and there's a way to use it to cause grief to an entire enemy team.

Sorry but I busted that myth a long time ago (given how much I ragequit I am very very familiar with what happens), and if it's "infamous" it's only because so many people are ignorant of how stats work. Go ahead, try it. Grab your favorite Mech and run into the enemy team and just before you die, quit the match. A minute or so later you'll have +1 death on your stats.

Go on, I'll wait.

A few nights ago, I had an especially bad one. After an opponent's failed base rush (this was PuG) The match was effectively over in 3 minutes, with us at 5, and the opposing team with one lone raven. The match finally ended at 13:48....a full 10 minutes of benny hill raven chasing action. Mind you, this was a (bad) PuG, so there was zero coordination in taking him out, but at least one 'friendly' was engaged against the raven the entire time....lots of blinking parts...lots of sparks...lots of 15m teleporting in opposite directions... lots of no damage registered. Low Pings all around. It was very amusing and and so agonizing to spectate, as we were down to 2 mechs by the end (and one HAD to stay on our cap...it was that close). Honestly thought it was going to be a LAG-Tie.

Lag shield isnt completely fixed, .net code is still not fixed, I could go on and on but you will just have to search the forums for the pertinent posts since I am tired of posting the links for people that don't bother to look.
