Soooo.... not to be too pedantic, but when two objects collide head-on at equal speeds, you don't add the speeds together, the two speeds cancel each other out.
This comment doesn't really add anything to the in-game debate, I just want to make sure nobody fails AP Physics.

For a moment I thought this was going to turn into one of those "If a Commando leaves grid B2 heading south 5 minutes into a match, and a Catapult K1 heads north from grid G1 at 5 minutes 30 seconds, at what time will the two enter weapons range?" questions, heh

Physics is physics. Anyone with a rudimentary understanding of what it is like to exist in the universe will answer this poll the same way again and again.
The real answer is E: The 'mechs will clip slightly or entirely, and the results will largely be affected by ping.

meh ramming wouldnt happen much ... i mean its the kinda thing that might get done if you ran out of ammo..... but since lazers dont use that
...... still it could be usefull to distract ppl =3 i mean at first they have to assume you can shoot so they need to pay attention to you =3
still a light mech ramming a heavy would be kinda futile =3 ... like trying to kill a mountain by throwing eggs at it o.o ... light mech would come off worse .... if it did it at speed and hit directly it would prolly be out right destroyed .. and the heavy ... prolly it would just take a little damage maybe get a limp

For the Cicada's it would be a cornfield meet.
They wanted to find out what would happen if two trains collided going full speed at each other, the trains were destroyed and they found parts upto a mile away.
As to the Madcat and Commando both would take damage, the Commando would most likely fall, and the Madcat would stumble and possible fall. Then you would need to calculate the damage to the armor, hydralics, actuators and anything else from the fall/collision.
As to the DFA, from that distance and if he's not slowing himself... you now have a junkpile, or 1 or 2 reactor explosions.
