It's been said about 10 times, a light mech shouldn't be able to alpha strike 8~10 times in a row for 30 damage. So you can either have that, or heat problems on bigger mechs. WHICH THEY'RE ALSO GOING TO ADJUST PPCs AND L LASERS ANYWAY. I just don't get it.
If they put DHS at 2.0 you would just cry about getting owned by lights. So I guess you're just going to cry anyway because it's more important to you to be able to fire all 3 ER PPCs on your trial Awesome 9M over and over. Good riddance.
Same question for you, how do you think DHS are working right now? What levels of dissipation are they providing in the engine, what about the "extras" in large engines, and what about the external heatsinks?

I am a little cofused. I am truly not trying to be offensive here. How do you think DHS work? We have up to 10 in the engine, and a rating 275+ gets additional in the engine. At what efficiency do they work? What about external heatsinks?
I know how they are working, but I am not sure what your understanding is. I would love to contribute to the DHS discussion here, but I would like to know what is being said by whom so that I can try and be accurate, and so that I can be corrected if I am mistaken.
Up to the ten in the engine are 2.0. Any additional beyond ten whether they are in the engine or outside of the engine are 1.4. That is how they work.

How many freakin times do I gotta say let US, the BETA TESTERS come to that conclusion.
This is a beta right? Isnt that what we see in 40,000 replies to any criticism of the game?

I know. I want to see what Spinal and Klaus think about how they work Before I say anything I like to know the views of the people I am speaking with and the posts in this thread did more to confuse me than enlighten.

Um what? Beta testers test things... they don't make the game decisions. If something is tested and it works, then you are done testing. We do not need to test 2.0 DHS anymore than we need to try 3.0 to 10.0 DHS. DHS are currently used on a wide variety of builds but are not always used. The next step is tuning LL, ER LL, PPC and ER PPC heats so that they are more viable with the current heat dissapation rates.
Alpha happy 6 ML Jenners are the price of 2.0 DHS. We don't have to test it to know that, it's just math.

I don't know how it'll measure up but a 1 time fee of 5$ is hard to pass up when this game is gouging you left and right for as much MC as it can and their mess to balance the game is all over the place. I'm also going to tell a friend of mine that quit MWO about this sale. He'll likely buy one too and say, "Hope this one is fun".

You need Crysis Wars, which is bundled inside Warhead, so yes, Crysis Warhead. I just started my install and it had 2 options, Warhead+Wars, so I selected only Wars. Living Legends is a mod for Wars. Will it measure up to MWO? No idea yet. I've never played it. But for a mere 5$, I'll probably have a lot more fun than there is to be had on this messed up title. I always regretted not getting it when it was on sale for 10$, well now it's on sale for 5$. Perfect!

1. Engine heat sinks that come with the engine. These are 2.0.
2. Internal heat sinks that you can put inside the engine. These are 1.4.
3. External heat sinks that you have to put outside the engine. These are 1.4
So a 195 engine comes with seven engine heat sinks that are 2.0, you need to put three more external heat sinks to get up to ten, these are 1.4.
A 300 engine comes with ten engine heat sinks that are 2.0 and can hold two more internally. If you put those two in there, they are 1.4, and any external ones you put in are 1.4.

I seriously do not get the logic. If lights are OP with 2.0 HS, then type (1) HS needs to change. As it stands, only lights run pure DHS. Assults run a mix of (1) and (2) and (3). Lights only run (1).
What gives? On my commando, I get pure, uncut 2.0 DHS.
On my atlas, I get 10 pure, uncut 2.0 DHS, but then I have to load up on the cut, dirty columbian 1.4 DHS.
I do not get why.

Because MWO favours light mechs.
