There really needs to be a function to right-click or some such to report abusive players in-game chat. Ever since the game went Open Beta I have noticed alot of abusive posts by new players. This ranges from normal cursing for absolutely no reason, homophobic remarks, to racial slurs.

I don't play an online game to be insulted, I play it to have fun and PGI has a responsibility to make reporting these peopler easier, it's not my job to take a screenshot, close down the game, and compose an email with said screen shot specially when anyone with a little graphics alteration skill can alter a screenshot.

I use FRAPS to take a screenshot and mail it to the devs. It takes something pretty bad for me to report it though. I've only sent in two for extremely abusive chat.

A screenshot, even a fake one is better than blanket complaining. Were said comments directed at you specifically? We don't know.

Not knowing the full deets, people apparently can't take trash talking anymore? when did the world get pussified...internet tough guys really get people crazy, almost can't feel bad for op.

this is they type of crap people should just let roll off their backs

Maybe an online environment isn't your cup of tea. Expecting pleasant behaviour in an online game is asking for a minor miracle.

Uhh..no..... A million times no.

If you want to "report" someone, youre going to have to go through some sort of effort and email support, sorry.

Btw Shadowglade, maybe you should try growing a pair or developing some skin. I may not like it either, but its the internet. You should have realistic expectations(read: people will be atrocious).

Inexcusable behavior should not be tolerated or excused.

We, the internet gaming community as a whole, need to police our world and remove the worst offenders.

Trash talk is fine. Racial and homophobic slurs are not and should not be tolerated.

Accidental friendly fire is fine. Griefing is not and should not be tolerated.

Each and every one of us has a social contract with the world at large; break that contract, face the consequences.

I signed no contract with the world. What is the world giving me in return, squat? I got a crappy deal and need to beat my lawyer. This phoney baloney contract you speak of is called, basic human decency / respect....not everyone has it.

Hey Kraven, weren't you going around in a match saying bad stuff the other day? I'm pretty positive that was you. I don't have any proof..my saying it and just implying it is apparently enough. I think I proved it was you beyond a shadow of a doubt. :)

That's the point. OP seems to want to implicate things, but not provide anything but a couple of sentences about it.

Furthermore, if during the prematch "GLHFGLHF" love in, someone decided to say "good luck f#gs", personally, it's not really warranted, low rent on their part, but it's not directed at a person, therefore should just be written off as ignorant.

This is where I will agree, and disagree at the same time. Sure something could be off color / inappropriate, but unless directed specifically at someone, should be written off. Who knows, maybe the OP can email support about the match date and time, and they may have access to the chat logs if those are kept and see what was said.

I'm not saying an option shouldn't exist, but you're going to need to provide some proof that it actually happened, and is in the correct context.

I also can't remember a match where off color things were said just for the sake of saying it. Usually some one says something in chat, or does something that get's people all worked up. Rarely does it happen just because.

Having come to MWO from SC2, it isn't actually asking for that much; their community is (with rare exceptions) very polite all around.

No sense in saying some ppl have thin skins and what may be hurtful to some may not be to others.

What I do think is that this conduct should be addressed in due time to avoid the XBOX FPS shooter types that generally ruin these games.

I think of this as a tactic-based simulator as opposed to a FPS. The OP should look into playing with teamspeak. Almost everyone I have played with are considerate and polite as well as pretty darn bright and willing to give advice on the game and what microbrew goes best with MWO.

If people are being generally offensive or annoying I don't really care.
If they are offensive towards me... I'll drop their *** back into place.

(The only time I really report is if someone is being a **** to someone I can tell is a new player, or not very good. Because that's just rude.)

Later down the line a system like League of Legends would be cool. Easy reporting and if they get reported enough the community can decide the offenders fate.

I think this game needs more post-game chat so abuse could be even more rampant.

Have you found a way to use FRAPS without it crashing your game at the end of a match? I sometimes forget to disable it before the match ends and it closes my game and requires me to restart it back up. Very tedious and frustrating.

You are free to believe this.

The rest of the world is free to shun and hate you should you refuse to live up to the basic expectations of society.

Life is infinitely better and easier when one follows those basic rules - all essentially boiling down to "don't be an *******."

Print-Screen + paste to paint works if you don't want to use FRAPs.
