I fully understand the reasons to remove reapair/ammo part of the game.

Reammunition was just silly. Weapons should be balanced for their damage output and should NOT take ammunition into account. Otherwise we would have energy weapons Underpowered ingame to balance out the high ammo costs of missiles/balictics.
Now everything can be balanced for its ingame use! Great.

Rearm remove is also fine. There was too many disadvatages for playing heavier classes because of the costs. Now bring up other restriction to not let a 8vs8 team play assault (nearly) only.

But again: this was a step in the right direction!

You never played D&D or other games did you? I've been buying reloads and repairs for my characters since 1979!

I agree that doing away with repair/rearm is a good thing. The costs associated with piloting heavy and assault mechs made me avoid them most of the time. If you added Endo Steel and had weapons such as LB10-X it was even worse. My repair/rearm costs were often upwards of $100k CBills, which can be a serious deterrent for those who haven't played for long or aren't using Premium time to increase their payouts.

Additionally, I don't feel like the repair/rearm added anything significant to the game (aside from the deterrent mentioned above). If you have a feature that people can find more negatives than positives about, it's wise to either rework or remove said feature.

And you never tracked your material components? Some of those powerful spells were a B!tch cause crushed diamonds were expensive as Hel to buy just for example! Made playing a mage an ecconomical burdon to a group sometimes.
