Like the look but i just can't get behind a Hero that has no history. i know it's elitist, but there is just so much story involved in the Game.

I like the look, but I don't see a Lyran from Furillo having either of them.
there is history behind both these mech. They also have a triplet sister dragon called Claw. I guess they decided to leave claw out. As for these 2, the history behind them is...

Once established, the Storm Phoenixes started designing their own Mechs rather than building old Inner Sphere designs, but this practice did not last very long. After the discovery of the Clans, and the subsequent raiding, individual Houses began using the new technology to build new BattleMechs, mostly to make the raiding easier. A few designs were given to the central military, which then decided to restart its own BattleMech program.
Due to the Combine's small size, while it has a lot of Mech designs, relatively few of most exist. This gives the Phoenixes the advantage of surprise in most situations, since a design seen in one Phoenix attack may easily never be seen again. The large number of Storm Phoenix designs can also be attributed to the directions their original research went--while the Clans were working on weapons efficiency, the Combine had concentrated on new, faster production techniques.

Look up Draconis Combin Storm Phoenix history

so where can we get the backstory of the Twin Dragons? I want to hear the story of why they are hero mechs...

are they brother mechwarriors? father and son? sexy twin sister co-eds?

what... is... the... deal!?
in history... There were 3. Flame, Fire and Claw. All created by the Storm Phoenix

I would love this - I would immediately buy friends mechs to get them in with me and get them a running boost.

REALLY, this started as a thread about 2 hero mechs and you guys start degrading the thread to the ECM argument that's been done over and over AGAIN?

That's correct.

Typical Kuritan "honor"; two heavies ganging up on single mechs like immobile commandos and centurions with one shooting them in the back.

RP aside, I might be interested in these... hmm...

All I can say is that I better be able to afford them both with 7000 MC. If they come to more I might have to choose between them.... argh.

Forget honor - I like winning. Clan's can have their honor in the grave.

YES! It has 2 ballistic hardpoints! That means if it can hold an AC/20, it can hold 2 U-AC/5s as well! And with almost no loss of energy hardpoints! Calling it now, this is the perfect balance between the 1C and the 1N that I've been waiting for!

It really depends on if it still has the lower arm actuator. If it does then no AC20 and no dual UAC5's. If it doesn't though then... enjoy ;)

Actually, Fang is like a DRG1N with one less missile hardpoint and one more energy, and Flame is like a DRG1C with the 2 of the energy mounts traded from the LT to the RA...so out of the 2 Flame is the only one that can do any interesting new loadouts....and that's only if you wanted an AC/20 or if you wanted a PPC right arm so you could be like a "Grand Dragon".

So out of the two, I might get Flame...but more for the C-bill bonus and the paintjob than for the loadout possibilities. Fang I will skip unless I hear something else about it that sweetens the deal. (Otherwise it's too much like 1N or 1C, and I have those already)
