But... but... you could strafe-jump for super speeds! Skill-based gameplay that rewarded superior playing. ;)

I think melee could totally work if done right. Centurions could use their shields for instance. Dragons could foot-plant people.

Atlaii... they could Commando-toss (Midget powerrrr!). The possibilities are endless!

Can I rocket jump my Cataphract with an AC20 or a Gauss? :D

I'll probably get the one with the arm laser and the hip mounted AC. Tho please dont put XL in it stock and make it cheaper please....I already have XL's. But the second one, if it has similar hardpoints to the other dragons, Ill just get those. The YLW was kinda bad, but the Muromets was good. SO I am hopeful.

The thing is that the River City night segments did not show what the map actually looks like without night vision turned on.
For all you know, it looks bright as daylight like with Frozen...

At the moment, night vision is kind of craptacular.. Even when you use it in dark areas like the cave on forest colony, you really can't see crap with it.

It only seems to pick up highlights, rather than actually illuminating anything.

I'm hoping that they clean up the night vision a little better.

Ummm, the very first scene on the bridge looks pretty dark to me.

Yes, yes you can (well no you can't unfortunately) Hopefuilly they'll get explosions to move people eventually.

To fit an AC/20 you will have to remove the XL engine.

Hmm, sadly no.

The Cataphract might fair okay as a melee mech--probably more like the rock-em sock-em robots in Space Quest 3 (I'm old). The Catapult, however, will forever be referred to as "The Gimp."

No arms. No melee. All fail. No gauss jump either. ;)

Or Mickey.

Only when you buy them, just like when you buy a C-bill mech. I would like to see a potential re-naming system later on though.

Your old, preaching to the choir (if you couldn't tell because I picked up on the Quake references).

Catapult is still may mech though. Found the sweet spot for me on the C1 (F) chassis. Atleast my Cat could maybe still headbutt other mechs ;)

That night River City looks nice. Hopefully the night vision will get a little love in the next patch since it is too dark to use. It is almost worth using heat vision instead currently.

Not sure about the paint but I do like the dragon faces they've got. My mech will bite you now.

Melee could work right just as well as AC20's could work right. It's just a weapon attack done differently but not even necessarily that differently. Being able to cleave clan mechs in two would be a dream come true ;) of course being able to pop up a Centurion shield would be really nice too. Technically we could do that now if PGI put in controls and animation for it. A shield bash though...

Yeah, considering it's competing with thermal too and the only drawback there is telling things really close together apart.

I cut my teeth on dragons so this is interesting to me. Since open beta I worked on Cent's and CTF's. But this might be on my shopping list depending on loadout.

Should only get bonus c-bills when the other one is on the same team, lol. But seriously, meh. Still wishing there was a package deal somewhat similar to founder's to get some of my friends excited about spending money on this game!
