Is anyone else deeply bothered by it? Not even being able to look 90 degrees to the left or right in a mech that doesn't have any arms seems extreme. Maybe a bit too much? Thoughts and opinions?

Nah, I target dongwalkers first simply just to see them bite dirt.

The stalker should have at least 90 degrees, the Catapult should have the torso twist that the Stalker currently has, as it's a SUPPORT MECH, and yet has better ,mobility than dedicated brawlers.

The fear will die down when people learn about them more. Patience.

With all the advantages it has over the Awesome, the Stalker needs at least SOME sort of disadvantage.

The fear is somewhat deserved, good stalker builds can pour out tremendous amounts of damage in a very short amount of time, certainly much more burst damage than a Atlas or Awesome can hope to achieve.

It's also a matter of knowing that most of the stalkers you encounter have no xp in them, so you're at a tactical advantage to pick on one.

I agree with you, but giving it a 90 degree twist and NO additional arm movement past that should be sufficient, don't you think?

5M is a doom machine. I've played 10 rounds in it, done over 700 damage each round and killed a total of 34 players in those rounds. I love it.

uh its got 10 weapon hardpoints. half of which are arm mounted. so yeah its torso twist should be limited.

It's arms can't look past the max torso range, so why does arm-mounted hard points matter at all?

Uh because its arm mounted weapons can still shoot further up and down, just not left to right.

Yep point being the stalker has incredible up and down motion range for its weapons. No other mech in the game can fire that many weapons in the full up or down range. So it's only fair that it gives up some left to right motion.

Stalker-5M gets 4 energy and 2 missile in its arms which can shoot up or down the full range. In addition to a possible 3 torso mounted streaks which lock-on with the arm reticle. That gives you a max of 9 weapons that can shoot the full up and down motion range!!! No other mech in the game even comes close to that.

Stalkers are really really good at fighting on slopes where they can limit how much the enemy can return fire at them simply by being above or below the enemy mech where their torso mounted weapons cant reach.

So yeah the Stalker is already good enough and doesnt need better torso twisting at all.

I dunno but I've managed to kill EVERY SINGLE Stalker I've met in the last 2 hours in my Ilya Muromets and never got killed by one yet... feels squishy too me... or is it just that everyone's ganging up on them? LOL!

Oh, one thing, every single Stalker overheated like a b*itch fighting me and thats how I get the kills... Stalkers might have to deal with the overheating a little.

Hard to say with so many of them but the ones I've had run at me with their SRMs and junk...hurt. Plenty. Might have to get one.

Yeah if you alpha everything every time you overheat... like every other mech in the game except the 2 gauss mechs lol

Well, Stalkers seem to overheat MORE and perhaps its due to mounting way more weapons than Atlas or Awesomes.
