Ok gang, there are already some complaints that Conquest isn't working out like it should. With this being said many people are treating Conquest like Assault and ignoring the collection process and killing mechs like it was Assault, thus ignoring the way to collect Germanium.

Here is the SOLUTION to this problem:

http://mwomercs.com/...ost__p__1632306

Germanium needs to be a collectable, sellable, resource that can be used for the up-in-coming Community Warfare down the road. If we can get this in place by the DEV's it makes Germanium part of the economy as a viable resource and people will collect resources in Conquest.

TL;DR version...

Make Germanium a collectable resource to be used for Community Warfare down the road when it comes out. We collect it in Conquest, and PUG's, merc units, House Lords, Clans can all use it to give to jumpship commanders to fuel dropships and jumpships. It could be sold, or given in trade to reduce or given free transportation costs. And it makes it more important for people to collect Germanium in Conquest.

Suggestions? Thoughts?

Wasn't the point of Conquest simply to force people to move away from their bases and charge into battle, instead of simply taking up defensive positions and using ambush tactics?

If it was, it's remarkably effective at doing that.

True. It's doing that. But Conquest should have some meaning to it. By putting Germanium in as a collectable resource in the game and tie it to Community Warfare, it makes the game a lot more interesting. People will want to try and collect bases and it will force people to further combat to force them off base instead of straight out Assault.

It would also cause people to refuse to fight the last guy so that they can win by cap though, which might slow the pace of the game down. Or to blow off one leg, both arms and stand there trolling him.

I'm not really sure what was the initial motivation for the new game mode, and I'm not saying that I don't think having a Germanium currency, as it were, is interesting, but that's just my take on it when I saw the original post.

+1 op, good idea. and i have a suggestion as well.

What if we take the concept and turn it upside down. so both teams start with X amount of resources(Germanium) but start bleeding right away, only way to stop the bleed, is to control more points than the enemy.

Match ends if:

-one team reaches zero resource(Germanium) points.
-one team control of 3 or more cap point, for more than X amount of minutes..maybe 3 mins?
-one team is destoyed.

and no..the losing team should not get the bonus, even if they had points(germanium) left.
try seeing it form a merc pov..get in, get the job done, get out...mercs dont get paid by the hour:p

Thoughts?

So another type of 'money' to the system? I disagree. If Conquest mode is required to progress in other ways, you'll see the death of Assault mode.

Lower the amount of resources needed slightly, maybe to 500-600. Quadruple the reward for resource gathering and remove the bonuses from killing and assisting with killing other mechs.

I think there needs to be some type of reinforcements in this mode. Set it at a certain amount per team (say 10) and let people who die spawn at a selected spot away from the cp. With this you get rid of the mech mobs that just go out to kill everyone and the player who died can adjust strategy. The game, as it is now, is over once you lose too many mechs in the beginning.

You can even go further and let the amount of Germanium collected determine how many reinforcements the team has. Like a payment system for reserve mechs.

Well, I'll agree to disagree on that Hayashi. I don't know if the Dev's gave Conquest too much thought other than another form of a game mode. I was just trying to make Conquest more interesting and viable to play with and be a part of the bigger picture I guess.

I disagree it would be the death of Assault mode. It would just make Conquest a different mode for people to play with and enjoy. But I don't think quadrupling the reward for collection and removing killing bonues would be wise. What if someone distinguished themselves by getting 5+ kills in the game and saved the team by killing the enemy to win the game in Conquest? What reward would their be for that player who didn't get anything for the 5+ kills he got in the game? None. It doesn't make sense.

Look, I'm not saying that killing off the entire team isn't a viable way to win or I disapprove of it. I am saying that doing this will put a new spin on collecting germanium and allowing it to be tied in with Community Warfare down the road.

I don't agree with respawns or reinforcements. If you did that say they were close to winning. Now you pull away 100 germanium to 'respawn' or 'bring in reinforcements' from the game to battle continually. It's cheapens the battle experience. If you die, you die. Your mech goes down and that should be that. No, not trashing you for your idea. I appreciate the comments, but that's not what I was looking for.

The germanium thing aside; I still think that having reinforcements, of some kind, is the only way to make conquest significantly different from assault. Conquest should be more than assault with a few more bases.

Pretty similar, but simpler solution (by me, I admit) http://mwomercs.com/...ample-scenario/

But the mission is to collect the Germanium, Hayashi the killing is just supposed to be the bonus.(ie not as important)
