Not saying that the Lagshield is not there and that I cant wait for it to go away but....there are ways to deal with it. I like missiles

Several threads on it,I made 1 myself..The Naysayers here either are in ;
1. Denial
2.Fibbin'
3. Drive a Raven themselves (this most likely)
OR, in the case of the now-famed Tarriss Halcyon, believe all Ravens are cursed pseudo-mechs added purely to give him grief with their obnoxious pilots and black magic hexes.
I am being serious, I have made numerous comments of that description since I started back in Closed Beta, soon after the Raven was released. Now, I do believe I have a hate-club due to that description. I miss Closed Beta....Ravens were rare and useless...as they should be.

Or is it me just overreacting out of frustration? :-).
How do i cope with the light mech lag shield?
Well my first coping method is a good bit of glenfiddich whiskey.
My more immediate coping reaction is to hurl abuse at my monitor and maybe throw my shotglass at the wall in a rage when I pound a jenner with a 90 point SRM alpha whilst he runs straight towards me and it does nothing.
Then I proceed to drink straight out of the bottle.
Once thats done I go to bed and try not to have nightmares about the invulnerable *****.

I can't count the number of times I've seen a single Raven or Jenner or Commando literally just run circles in the middle of 4 or 5 or more enemy Mechs, all shooting at him, all doing next to no damage.
It's just ridiculous. Totally unacceptable from any game that wants to be taken even remotely serious.

Again, it is only certain, random people for me. Seems "not entirely related to ping" though higher ping = higher likelihood of "lag shield" for sure.
Some lights I can hit directly with lasers even when they are running across my view, and I only have to lead them "normally" for SRM's or Autocannons.
Others, I have to "lag shoot" and aim a bit ahead of their model on the screen; about 1 to 2 mech-lenghts.

I sincerely believe you are overstating this issue (when compared to my own experiences.)
I'm not saying you are wrong; I just that I think some folks are more affected by this than others, and it would be mighty awesome if we could figure out why that is. I bet if we understood why one person has this problem so often that he calls it "unacceptable" while for me, it's merely an annoyance, we would discover the source of the problem and possibly a solution.

I was in a fight where a Light ***** a Heavy and i came to assist, putting my STK-5S its back to the next wall and firing my weapons at the Light.
The target damage indicator flashed at times but the Light received extreme little damage from all the lasers and i tried to bring it down with several 4x SRM6 salvos.
It ran allways around a bulding the very same way every single round and i think it was 15 salvos of 4x SRM6 until it finally lost a leg.
When it lost its leg it was dead by the next second from the other heavys multiple ACs fire.
I think it was very unfortunate from PGI to allow Lights to go above 130 kph, yet they can go 150kph.
I plioted my founders Jenner with 138kph several times through the middle of a heated battle and received almost no damage as long as i did not slow down.
And Boy, it only has 4SL and 2xSRM4 but its a killer...

For smooth ones, leading with lasers is easy enough. (Except for the stalker and its tiny torso twist) Warpers? Always keep streak SRMs just in case.
Ping usually around 100-150 (In the UK).

try to be patient when fighting lights, chainfire and keep your heat down, when they run off or in a straight line towards you do an alpha strike.
streaks also work if they're not too ecm heavy, pulse lasers is the second best bet.

No, really. Drag your lasers across a light mech's legs. They don't have a lagshield when they're crippled. And there's nothing more satisfying in this game then watching a mech that's been skipping around the screen like Speedy Gonzalez suddenly get turned into a Wounded Duck in a matter of moments.
Of course, you still have to be able to hit him through his shield to begin with. I find that if you hold your fire and wait until the mech is running straight towards or straight away from you that it helps. Trying to hit a lagmech that's running from left to right is an effort in frustration.
