Ah i was going to do that when i got home

Look at the cockpit though its more square in the orange one. Id say thats the only differnce though besides some minor details onthe armbarrel

Seems like its using a different cockpit design. But that could just be because of the blurr... otherwise its pretty much the same

Possibly the Default three channel skin for the orion. I see orange, black, and slivers of green highlight wrapping around barrels and around edges of CT.

SLIGHT SPOILERS
Well I got to the part where he leaves Vega and his regiment 'stays' behind. Maybe a bit farther. Got really bored with it.

Hopefully Alex has made some unique concept art for all the custom arm designs the Orion will need for its many variants. LRM15, SRM4+ML etc.

The weapon slots having different graphics was a big thing for me and annoyed me a bit with early mechs who didnt always reflect the changes well. Newer mechs have proven very enjoyable (blackjack for example used to look awesome with a UAC5, not so much now that its shrunken. Quickdraw with a ppc on its arm looks like Megatron ). But my big issue is all this damn waiting, I think we are rolling up on a light for next month I think? le meh! (Though if it does turn out they swapped out the flea for a more interesting surprise light, I might be tempted.)

Because it's a boating mech, either you put 2 gauss, 4 AC 5, 4 Llasers, or 4 PPCs.

If you put on Gauss you will have problems with the low slung hardpoints, and the other stuff will get wtfpwnt by the heat nerf (well, at least the later two will).

Hardly, a little restraint and you never see the extra heat, plus you can get off one alpha at long range and have the heat gone by the time you start brawling with it.

The Awesome blows chunks. Nobody is sadder about it than me, but it's true. The Stalker is only a bit more a FWL 'mech than it is anything else, it's a widespread type. Also not nearly as iconic a design as the Orion. No other 'mech is more closely associated with House Marik than the Orion.

Trolling on the last page aside, when are we going to get this? And what is August's 'mech going to be? Aside from the Phoenix 'mechs, there's only two announced upcoming 'mechs: the Flea and the Orion. And the Flea is delayed while they work on MASC and the speed cap I think...?

So August is either the Orion or they pull something we haven't seen yet out of their butts like they did with the Quickdraw.

it is their poster boy for TRO 3145 :)

Plus just because awesome sucks doesn't mean its not iconic. most would argue its more iconic than the orion for FWL..

on top of that FWL has the most mechs in MWO right now.

No, but you can hardly expect FWL fans to be satisfied with a 'mech which is uncompetitive.

"Most" is speculative. And the Awesome would be their #2.

Not really. It's the Lyrans who are hurting for their signature 'mechs right now, though their signature is kind of just "anything big and slow."

Tell me, what is an Orion supposed to do that a Cataphratct cannot?

edit: Besides be 5 tons heavier/carry a tiny sliver more armor.

The Orion is a more all around mech where the Cataphract isn't. That is the main difference. Only one variant has missiles and that is the 2X with a pair of 4 tubes SRM ports. And as people said, it's a poor mans Atlas. For me it's a good mix with good speed.

The Victor is also heavily associated with the Capellans (Made by Tao Mechworks) and so is the Flea (Capellans stole the design from Wolf Dragoons). Capellans also get two hero mechs highly associated with them, Yen Lo Wang and Ilya Murmomets. HIghlanders also feature in both the Capellans and the Lyrans.

Yen Lo Wang (Justin Allard) - FedSuns (intelligence agency operative)
Ilya Muromets (Grigori Kovalenko) - CapCon (independent merc)
Fang & Flame (Donald & Martin Takeda) - DCMS (Sun Zhang MechWarrior Academy instructors)
Death's Knell (Bono Duganmare) - LCAF (22nd Skye Rangers)
Pretty Baby (Danielle Peterson) - AFFS (Chisholm's Raiders)
The X-5 (Leopold Crawford) - FWLM (Gibson Federated BattleMechs test pilot)
Heavy Metal (Rhonda Snord) - Merc (Snord's Irregulars)
Misery (J. Elliot Jamison) - Merc (Wolf's Dragoons)
Firebrand (Donald Vincent) - Merc (independent)
Dragon Slayer (Ardan Sortek) - AFFS (Prince's Champion)

So far, it seems that only the FRR is as yet without a representative hero. B)
