Even though now that repair bills are out it's not "The smaller Atlas I play to build up C-Bills to play my real Atlas", but NEVER underestimate the extra speed and smaller size as reasons to pilot it.
Now pardon me, as I have to go prepare for late summer next year when this nice little number shows up.

This is going to be an amazing fire support BattleMech; one could fit a pair of PPC's and a Gauss, backed up by a smaller LRM or SRM, and still have full armour and move at a decent speed.
So very excited. As a Lyran (regardless of the fact that Marik is the only House to still build them), I approve the release of this heavy 'oldschool' design.

1. The Mech will be launched with cockpit hitbox issues. PGI will of course fix these issues after the boards light up with complaints.
2. The arm swing will be horrible, due to the AC barrel jutting out that far.
I'm not 100% sold on the artwork, either, which is a hard thing to say. FD has always done fantastic work, but this Orion just doesn't excite me very much.

imo fixed barrels like that on mechs shouldn't have horizontal arm swing at all. Just vertical arm and regular torso movement.

Unless this is a variant without that being shown then this isn't the Orion.

I want it exclusively for the "Death by Oriony," sticker on the leg.

That was an error in the artwork - or, perhaps, they failed to check the art when making the build.
The actual build / record sheets had the launcher in the torso.
I do kind of like having the launcher on the arm though; perhaps one variant will feature that lovely Cylinder of Doom

Orion was the Workhorse of the FWLM Military, by far, until like the Perseus and such came out.
